It's GREAT!
This mower is fantastic! It was simple to put together and is very straight forward to operate. I am mowing 2.5 acres of rough, uneven, hilly ground that we call our yard. After my husband's passing I found I can't start either of our two recoil start mowers, including the one with the "Easy Start" logo right next to the handle for the recoil starter. It didn't take long to realize that the closest neighbor was going to get real tired of me asking him to start the thing every time I had to put more fuel in the tank! Our son has an EGO mower that he has used for several years now. He thinks a lot of his, so I didn't spend a lot of time looking at other makes and models. This model seemed to be a good fit for me. Since it came with the rapid charger and two batteries, i figured I wouldn't have a whole lot of down time waiting for a battery to recharge so I could keep mowing. Just because the weather is good right now, it doesn't mean it's going to be good in an hour or so as I waited for the battery to recharge. At least, that was the logic I was using.I watched the grass growing as I awaited the arrival of my new machine. And I worried if it was getting to be more than I should ask any mower to chew through. A lot of our grass is "thread and needle" which sends up many tough seed stalks on each clump of grass. When the mower arrived, I was thrilled by how easy it was to put together. Most of it was pre-assembled. I put one of the batteries into the charger and found both were at 75% so almost fully charged right out of the box. Adjusting the handle bar was easy and the mower deck height was even easier with it's simple one and done lever right on top of the mowing deck! Then came the moment of truth. Push in the start button and pull the bale back and presto! Starting was a breeze. I was immediately impressed with how quiet this machine runs. Yes, it does make some sound, but you could carry on a conversation if somebody wanted to walk along! Wow! What a difference! I was also impressed that mowing with this mower in mulch mode isn't as dirty a job as it is with any other mower I've used. This EGO keeps everything pretty well contained where all the chewing is taking place rather than scattering it everywhere. NICE!I started out in a section of yard that is relatively level and not as rough as a lot of what I had to cut and I found this mower to be nimble and easy to navigate. It pushes very lightly in most circumstances. I discovered that, even when you have to back up to work your way around something, it's easy to handle. A tip I'd read in the operator's manual said that if it pulls backward hard, just push it forward a little and then pull it backward. I'm no engineer, so why that works I can't say. I can attest to the fact that it does work beautifully. Backing the mower up is just as easy as going forward. Now let me tell you about it's self propelled feature. It's more than happy to assist you on the grades. Simply engage the trigger on the right and away you go! Use the lever on the left to adjust it to your walking speed. When that required me to do longer uphill climbs, I found I don't walk as fast as I do on the level, but it's easy to adjust on the move as the need arises. Most of the time I didn't use the self propulsion and that's probably because 1. this mower pushes easily and, 2. I've never had it before. I had to remind myself to let the EGO do the heavy lifting! With the dual batteries and the rapid charger I found that I had plenty of power for the job. When the red light indicated my battery was getting tired, I'd pop that one out and the charger had already put a full charge on the battery it was working on. Trade the batteries out and keep right on mowing! It's the perfect set up!I now understand why our son is so crazy about his EGO Power+ LM2102SP-A and I'm very glad I had sense enough to listen to him and get the exact same mower. It's a wonderful machine.

Love this mower!
I've only had this mower for 10 days, but I LOVE it! I've been wanting to try a battery powered mower, but the price made me reluctant and I had a working mower. Once my gas powered mower quit, I decided to try it, since it was comparable in price to a gas powered mower similar to my previous one. It came with 2 batteries and the charger. I charged both batteries immediately, and read the manual! My yard is less than 1/2 acre. My son tried it in the back yard to see how well it cuts and was impressed with the power of a battery powered lawn mower. It is easy to use (self propelled) and when I mowed the whole yard it only used one battery charge. The 21 inch cut is even, even on the lowest setting. The self propel has a speed setting so it can go turtle slow, or fast walking speed! I would recommend this to people with small yards who want to get away from using gas and oil.

Excellent Electric Mower
I was fortunate enough to have been able to purchase this mower with 6-amp hour and 4-amp hour batteries include. Also included in the package was a rapid charger. That particular package, on sale, was a great value. The rapid charger was a huge plus as it does a very nice job of charging the batteries quickly. The charger continues to run a cooling fan after the battery is charged but does not overcharge the battery so it can be left unattended on the shop bench. The description highlights a few things: UP TO 80 MINUTES OF RUNTIME - Get up to 80 minutes of runtime on a single charge from this battery lawnmower with the included 56V 4.0Ah and 6.0Ah batteries; compatible with all EGO 56V ARC Lithium batteries. This description is accurate enough... but I thought I would share my experience with you. UP TO 80 minutes of runtime applies to the use of both batteries with no load on the motor. It is important to understand that the batteries can't last that long under working loads. The length and thickness of the grass adds resistance/load to the blade's rotation. The self-propelled drive train is also a load that varies with the thickness and height of the turf. I fully charged the batteries before mowing my yard. The yard really needed to be mowed so I didn't set the deck very low. I used the #4 setting. The 6Ah battery ran strong for forty minutes before stopping dead. Fortunately, the 4Ah battery was also fully charged and I was able to finish the yard with power to spare. My yard is approximately 10,000 sq. ft. so the 6Ah battery may well be all you need for a smaller yard. The second battery is nice to have and compatible with their edgers and string trimmers so that is a plus.EXCEEDS POWER OF GAS - This is my first electric mower. I have used gas powered mowers for sixty years. A sharp blade makes a significant difference. To keep things fare I sharpened the Ego blade before beginning. It had a decent edge on it from the factory, so it really didn't need very much attention. I mulch my grass so that plays a role as well. I can't say that the Ego blade does as nice a job as a sharp power mower mulching blade. My power mower blade had high and low sharp edges and wing tips to lift the clippings. The Ego blade has wing tips but only the lower blade edge is sharp, but the Ego blade did a very nice job of cutting and mulching. I am happy with the performance, but the grass isn't quite as even as my old power mower left it. The motor didn't seem to slow down under load or in gear. Torque seems constant right up until the battery gives out.TOUCH DRIVE SELF-PROPELLED TECHNOLOGY - Works well. I couldn't find an ideal speed for myself though. One click up from what seemed just a little too slow was just a little too fast. That isn't a big deal. A little slower does a better job of mulching grass anyhow. The size of the mower is great for the average yard. A 21" width of cut works for me. The handle is collapse able and the mower can be stood up on end to save space in the garage. That is a plus. That also makes it easy to clean out clippings under the deck.
