18-Liter Backpack
I received this a few days ago but haven't had a chance to try it out yet on the trail which is why I'm rating it 4-stars at this time.I love the overall capacity of it, as well as all the pockets. I think it will be a perfect bag for day hikes without being too big. I tested the hydration bladder for leaks and there were none. Yes it gives water that "plastic-y" taste initially, but I did clean it with a bit of dish soap, rinsed well, and let it air dry for 2-3 days and that took care of the weird taste. Also there are two outer side pockets that each fit a standard 16-ounce water bottle but they seem like they will fit larger bottles too.The shoulder straps are a perfect fit for me. I was concerned they might be too wide and uncomfortable, or hit in the wrong places based on what a few other reviewers with similar physical dimensions stated. Also the sternum strap and waist strap are adjustable and fit comfortably (for reference I am 5'3, 135, 36C).The medium size pocket in the lower middle section of the bag with the logo on it has three small buckle straps - one at the top of it as well as one on either side (see pics) so it can be unhinged. I wasn't sure what the purpose is but my husband suggested it can be used to hold a jacket or blanket, or anything else along those lines. This backpack looks and feels like very good quality and I can't wait to load it up and take it out on some Fall hikes.UPDATE 10-22-23:This is now officially a 5-Star backpack. I used it for the first time yesterday on a 14-mile hike and it was perfect! It was fully loaded and comfortable for the whole trek.I started out with the hydration pack full - no leaks, and the bite valve worked great. This is my first hydration pack and I sure appreciated the convenience of being able to drink water without having to stop during those times when I was only thirsty but not needing to stop. (now comes the fun part of cleaning the thing lol - but I bought a cleaning kit and some fizzy tablets, so we'll see how that goes!)The backpack held everything I bring on a day hike, though I can see where the bigger 22-liter one wouldn't be bad either for hikes in colder weather when I bring a heavier jacket, a few other light layers, and more food items. I actually might get one in that size too if I can get it at a good sale price. This is definitely a great pack from my experience with it so far, and I'd say get it if you're on the fence.

Great quality and design at great price
Awesome pack - great use of space for snacks, clothes, phone keys etc, extra water bottle and 2L water pack in the back. Just did 5 (long) days of pretty strenuous hiking and this pack was super comfortable and functional - all the features I needed. The weigh distribution is perfect with all the adjustable straps - barely noticed I had it on my back most of the time. Love this backpack - exceeded my expectations.

Great bag for beginners
I absolutely love this bag. This is my third one and not because they are poorly made, but because my kids love it and wanted one for themselves. My only complaint is the opening of the bladder and the clip that goes across eventually stopped working on my first bag which is an older model. I did have to buy another bladder at a sporting goods store that has a twist opening which is easier to open and close. Overall this bag has ample space and a spot for almost anything you can think of. It does well for day hikes. I've used it as a purse when on vacation as it holds quiet a bit even with a full bladder. I also like on this updated model that the bladder has its own separat section and you can pull it out without having to open the main pocket. In terms of price, I think it's definitely on the cheaper end compared to other hiking bags and is great for people who want something sturdy but inexpensive.

LOTS of space, difficult to suck water.
The only downside to this bag is the drinking mechanism. It can be difficult to suck the water out, you can definitely strain yourself doing it. Could be user error, but probably not. The rest of the bag is fantastic. Lots of space to fit your things. From back (where your back is) to front the pockets are:1) Pocket for the water bladder. It was a pig enough size to where you could fit a few small items in there along with your full bladder.2) The main large pocket. On a typical day hiking I was wearing shorts, t-shirt and hiking shoes. In the bag I had an extra pair of lightweight hiking pants, a typical long sleeve Colombia fishing shirt (they're great for hiking since they are breathable and the length helps keep bugs off) a bathing suit and a change of socks in the main pocket. I still had plenty of room to put things in there comfortably, and even more room if I wanted to squish things. But I was hiking and wanted to be light weight.3) Top small pocket. Plenty big to fit your passport+wallet+keys+cigarettes (or other similar smoking items I don't smoke tobacco), etc.4) Bottom smaller pocket. This pocket has much more space than pocket 3. All I stuck in here was a small flashlight and and my homemade first-aid kit. My homemade first aid kit consisted of 5.5" x 6.5" x 2" tupperware container filled with typical medicines, bandages, creams etc that you would want while hiking in case you got sick or a headache or sprained something or cut yourself or whatever. This container took up most of the pocket, I was maybe able to fit something else on the side (I don't remember what) but it was indeed a tight squeeze that required finagling to zipper close.Pocket 4 is secured by 3 buckles that you can loosen or tighten. This was a fantastic feature. I placed my rain jacket in a large beach towler, rolled up the beach towel and was easily able to secure it in the area. I tightened up the straps and I was good to go. I had plenty more room available, as well, if I wanted to stick more things in there. But again, I was only day hiking so I wanted to keep it light. The bungee cords on top of pocket 4 are useful. They are your standard bungee cords that come on most backpacks these days. I used these to secure my hiking shoes when part of the hike involved trekking through a river. The side pockets are standard. They can fit a water bottle and thusly most other things too. I kept a water bottle in one and snack bars, bug spray and sun screen in the other. But that was just for hiking. On the flight over I used this as my carry on. Just in case the airline lost my luggage, I wanted to make sure I had enough things to still get me by. I packed this sucker to the brim. Two pants, two t-shirts, one pair of shorts, one long sleeve Colombia fishing shirt, one long sleeve button down dress shirt. four pairs of socks, three pairs of underwear, bathing suit, rain jacket......honestly I could go on but I've forgotten all I brought. As a disclaimer, I was only able to fit all those outfits due to the use of those vacuum seal bags. It might be impossible to fit all those things in the without using those vacuum seal bags, but at least now you have an idea of the capabilities. The bag is comfortable and appears durable. I only docked it a star because of the difficult sucking up water. Otherwise this thing is great.

Mala calidad bolsa hidratacion

Mostly a nice pack
My only complaint is that the main compartment's zipper is hard to open & close because the flap over it is so stiff. Otherwise, it's holding up well and seems to be a great pack for fit and quality.
