Paramilitary clone
The Ganzo G729 is an intriguing knife that immediately draws comparisons to the iconic Spyderco Paramilitary 2. The similarities in design are undeniable, but the G729 carves its own path with a few notable distinctions. One of the standout features is the axis-style lock, a mechanism often associated with Benchmade. While not as refined as the original, the G729's axis lock functions reliably and securely, offering a satisfying "click" upon deployment. The blade is a highlight, arriving razor-sharp out of the box. Crafted from 440C stainless steel, it strikes a balance between edge retention and ease of sharpening. It may not hold an edge as long as premium steels, but it proves more than capable for everyday cutting tasks. The G10 handles provide a comfortable and grippy hold, further enhancing the overall user experience. They offer a solid feel in hand and exude a sense of quality that belies the G729's budget-friendly price. If you're a fan of the Paramilitary 2 but seeking a more affordable alternative, the Ganzo G729 is worth considering. It may not be a perfect clone, but it delivers a commendable performance at a fraction of the cost. The G729 is a testament to Ganzo's ability to offer value-driven knives without sacrificing essential features or functionality

Great knife at a great price!
The media could not be loaded. At this price point you can’t go wrong! It has the teardrop one handed opening on the blade, or the axis lock that also allows one handed opening. This makes for a fun, fidgety, knife! It may not be a “super” steel like more expensive brands, but for this price, this knife is well made with tight tolerances. It’s a beautiful knife too! The g10 handles aren’t as rough as some g10 that can actually be abrasive to your pockets. There’s still plenty of grip and I actually prefer it this way. Some people were posting that they took the knife apart to adjust the axis lock spring, loosened the screw where the knife rotates, and added oil to the area because they thought things were too tight. People also posted that they sanded down some edges around the teardrop hole and on the axis bar button. I personally feel it’s fine like it is right out of the box with no modifications. If you’re on the fence about it, just do it, and I’d put money on it that you won’t regret it. Again, at this price, it’s a perfect budget knife that you can beat up and not be out a bunch of money. It sure is fun to flip! I have handled many, many, knives. This is worth owning.

Nice value for 22 dollars.
This is a strange one. The dimensions, the scales all have a profile that is seemingly identical to the spyderco paramilitary 2. But the internals are different. The spyderco is 338 bucks with a compression lock. This one has something that looks like an axis-lock/crossbar lock. The spydeco has a 4 position clip. This has just 2, left and right heel. Overall, nice for the cost. The action is a bit stiff, but it can be deployed by momentum like most axis locks. The quality is nice for 1/15th the cost. The blade is thick at the ricasso and has a slightly convex distal taper.

Worth more than you pay, and you get more than you expect from a "budget folder". Wayyyy more.
The media could not be loaded. Look, we all know it's a Ganzo copy of "arachnid". If you're going to complain about that (and some reviews below actually compare the two) -- go away. That said - this knife is GREAT for what it is. The steel on mine said hardened 440C, which checked out (I have a shop and a forge, I obvs have a small benchtop rockwell tester and durometer. That said (again) -- this 440C is nearly the same rockwell as my other D2. Which is just sweet. Big one in the plus column. The action is crisp and clean although a bit tight straight out of the box. Some Breakfree or Blaster will fix that right up if you don't want to go through the standard "New Knife Breakin" period. Or you can leave it, and break it in by using it as a fidget. Either way, all knives have that little tightness at first, so -- not a plus or minus. This actually comes in OD. Which is a HUGE plus column for me -- I am SICK to death of black on black knives, or black on silver knives, or black and red .... just give me a utilitarian, easy to sharpen piece of hardened steel in some OD or coyote. And this one delivers - two points in the plus column.Durability wise -- I just used it as a pry bar to remove the bulbs from a 2014 Kia that was gunked tight, so it is DEFINITELY more durable than you'd expect from 440C. Plus column.Comes "sharp", but be real -- if you're buying a knife and reading the reviews, you're the type to sharpen it yourself anyway. And it gets to that edge EASY. My 10 year old is learning about knife safety, and he sharpened it to shaving razor sharp in about fifteen minutes. Plus column, again. So what is that -- 4 plus columns, one neutral? Sounds like a five star to me.
