Nice pan….but you must season it before use despite what the paperwork says!
This is a very nice cast iron pan HOWEVER the paperwork says that it comes pre-seasoned. NOT SO. This is my second identical pan. The first one I seasoned and I had no problems with it. I ordered this pan, the second one, and didn’t have time to season it. What I cooked in it stayed in it! So this is not a product failure rather it is a labeling failure and ultimately it is my fault. They may come from the factory “pre-seasoned” to prevent rusting but it is not pre-seasoned for cooking. Don’t make the same mistake I made…….season it prior to using it!

Pre-seasoned, lighter, fabulous!
Fabulous - I washed it and put a thin coat of oil on it, then made cornbread with just a bit of extra oil inside the pan. The cornbread cooked evenly and slipped right out - no sticking! It came well seasoned and I’m so excited to use this all the time (for baking and stovetop, as it’s lighter and easier to lift with the two handles compared to my regular Lodge pan).Highly recommend for the quality. And for the price, you really can’t beat it.

Heavy-duty, classic cast iron.
I love cooking in cast-iron utensils. this skillet is designed to handle everything from baking to searing, roasting, and even frying. One of its standout features is its excellent heat retention and even distribution, ensuring your dishes cook to perfection. Whether you're preparing cornbread, pizzas, or a hearty breakfast skillet, the results are consistently impressive. The cast iron construction also adds a rustic charm, making it suitable for both oven-to-table presentations. The pre-seasoned surface is a huge plus, as it offers a natural non-stick layer that improves with every use. However, like any cast iron product, it does require proper care—hand washing, drying immediately, and reapplying oil to maintain the seasoning. Its size and depth make it ideal for both home cooks and professionals who want a reliable tool for a variety of culinary tasks. While the skillet is on the heavier side, this is a trade-off for its durability and performance.

Great general purpose skillet for use on induction burner or in toaster oven
I have had a regular long-handled Lodge 10" skillet for yearsBut recently, I had to move to a Seniors apartment with a small galley kitchen. Little counter space, but worse - the oven was one of the 1/2 size electric coil disasters. Which I will rarely use - only with my non-induction Presto pressure cooker. As a result, my cooking is now done mostly with a single induction burner, and new countertop Smart Oven & air fryer..So my old long handle would no longer fit in the countertop oven for baking, roasting, etc. This one fits perfectly. Labeling it a 'Bakers skillet' is a disservice. It is just as much general purpose as the long-handle. Even a bit lighter and easier to move aroundA great skillet for use with single induction burners and counter top ovens

First time using Cast iron and I'm impressed!
I'd recently seen a bunch of videos showing how to make a Dutch baby, which is something like a Yorkshire pudding or a German pancake, and I really wanted to try the recipe. I noticed that everyone used a cast iron skillet and I didn't have one, but decided to get one and give it a try.I'd always shied away from cast iron because it's heavy and it can't be wet or it will rust. But when I found this 10.25 inch size with the little handles I thought it would be perfect, and I was right. The pan is well made and it's not too heavy, it's easy to move and use. As you can see from the pictures, my savory Dutch baby came out perfect on the first attempt at using the skillet. After using it, it only required a quick wipe out with a paper towel and it's ready to go again, and the Dutch baby slid out of the pan perfectly with no sticking at all. My husband declared it his new favorite meal, and I love that it was so easy to make. I expect that this pan will be used a lot in this house, and I love its quality.

As Goldilocks said, it's just right!
I've been slowly replacing an old set of Circulon cookware that I've had since the early 90s. I decided to go with Lodge cast iron for the skillets because, with proper seasoning, they are non-stick and can also be used for acidic foods. However, I found that the Lodge 12" pan I purchased a few years ago is way too heavy to lift with one hand, especially when it's hot and filled with ingredients. The size is also a bit too large when cooking for just two people. Thanks to Black Friday I was able to snag this 10.25" Lodge Cast Iron Baker's Skillet. What a difference 1.75" makes. {wink} It's the perfect size and weight, has two handles so it can easily be transported to the oven or the sink, and I LOVE that it came with a glass lid. As Goldilocks said, it's just right! The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because Lodge claims their pans are pre-seasoned. While they may have seasoned it a little, the pan was in no way ready to fry an egg. Even with a bit of butter fat in the pan my egg was a hot comical disaster! It's probably common sense to people who are more familiar with cast iron, but it didn't even occur to me that it wouldn't be good straight out of the box.Lesson learned: Always do several rounds of seasoning before using a new cast iron pan!
