Great price, but at what cost? Kastking make this right!
I'm not here to bash this reel, just notes to consider. I received the Kastking Rover 50 LH retrieve and overall, it's a really nice reel and it comes packaged just as nicely for the price. The reel has a metal full body, and easy to take apart of maintenance. The bait feed clicker could be louder as line is pulled out, it's more of a lower click noise (some reviews agree). When you reel the handle with the bait feeder engaged, the "clicking" indicator when reeling it in is exactly the noise level and sound it should be which is audibly louder and higher pitched, but overall not a deal breaker. Also it's super nice to have a line leveler.Okay so here is where honestly my only true issue is with this reel- The clearance between the spool lip and the body of the reel is truly unacceptable, and I say this more so disappointed. I have 3 Kastking reels in my collection that do get used almost every outing, however this one will not be going out. It has been mentioned in other reviews that users are having line caught up in the spool/body and the only way that truly works to get the reel fixed is to take it apart and remove the line that gets lodged. This is NOT normal with other manufactures from low-pro bait cast reels, or traditional ones like this style, you just don't have interference issues like this with line getting caught on backlash or slack situations.Just to reference my images, when i received this reel, I couldn't help but notice that while i was spooling it up with 20lb fluorocarbon, the spool was a bit hard to spin, no matter the tension that I set it at, so I took the reel apart. Low and behold I found a bit of what I would consider somebody's mono line wrapped around one of the sides of the spool. So not only was I disappointed I received somebody's return, but its clear that whomever did so experienced the same issues that I'm enclosing. The last pic I circled the clearance between the spool and reel body to show just how easy it is to get line caught up. No matter the adjustment of the spool tension on either side, I could not successfully find a "sweet spot" to even be remotely satisfied with chance that this could happen again, and of course it did as of a week ago as I was casting out.I hope that this helps some while shopping for that big fish type set up. Overall, this may be a shot in the dark and a Hail Mary, but I hope that Kastking would make this right. I use my Kastking reels right next to my Shimano's, Lews and Abu's, I think for the money they are good work horses that have helped me boat some nice fish.

It works as intended
This reel is just okay. I have an abu Garcia 6500 and it’s much smoother, and easier to use. But it’s also more expensive. This reel is cool, clicker is good, but backlashes easier, and also find myself pressing the button to release line because that’s where you rest your thumb.

Well built, affordable baitcaster - 50L Model
Smooth retrieving, well built, lightweight baitcaster. Drag feels consistent and cast control works well. Bait clicker is a nice feature for this size of reel. Line capacity is very good. I have a Shimano Calcutta 201B and this KastKing compares quite favorably to the Shimano on performance and build but at 1/4 the cost. Can't speak to longevity yet. Well packaged with nice felt storage bag. My only gripes are that the exploded diagram labels are impossible to read without a microscope and no instruction manual is included (although it's pretty easy to figure out since it is a pretty standard setup). If this reel can hold up for any extended period of time, it is a definite winner. Time will tell.
