I recently embarked on a quest to fix my world—well, at least the broken bits of it. I have vinyl sheet flooring that is about 30 years old and I have two seams that had long pieces of the seam that had a wide gap in it the one seam had a 12 inch section with a 1/2 inch gap in it and another 8 inch section with a 1/4 inch gap in it my other seam had a section with a 8 inch section with a 1/4 inch gap.So I put a strip of gorilla duct tape across both seams then I put another piece on top of the piece I laid down so it has double layer going across both seams then on the 12 inch section I put two rows of overlapping duct tape on one side of the seam and two overlapping duct tape on the other side of the seam so I have 5 rows going parallel to the seam then as I put the 4 rows down I double layered all the rows.I put so many rows because the gap was a 1/2 inch that was so wide.I noticed that my sandal had a piece of sand was on the bottom of it and it put a small hole in the duct tape when I walked over it.So this is showing me the duct tape will cut easy so I put a strip of regular duct tape across both seams in the middle of the seam because it is very tough and will not get holes in it.I did this so it would have a tough outer surface on the seams I actually put two layers of regular duct tape in the middle of both seams. Both seams are waterproof because the gorilla clear duct tape has such a strong bond to the vinyl flooring.I really needed to fix the floor because bedbugs where going in those seams in the floor in nesting.I am very happy at the job the tape did if I would have done it a conventional way the seams would have still had a gap in them.

I bought this tape as an afterthought when purchasing a tube of Gorilla Glue. I'm so glad I did, and I've actually already bought a replacement roll already because I've used it for so many things. It definitely is stronger than normal clear tape, and also seems to be fairly weatherproof. I can't begin to count the number of applications I've turned to the Gorilla Tape for, and which are still being held by the Gorilla Tape to this day. I also use it in conjunction with Gorilla Glue in case I don't have clamps and I'm gluing something that would otherwise need clamps, because the tape holds well enough without necessary clamping. I've used it to fix mini blinds, cabinet doors, electrical outlets (don't even ask...), weatherproofing indoor rated AC adapters in sheltered outdoor locations, holding cables in place, I've discreetly fixed my fiance's glasses when a screw fell out of the temple and he needed a quick repair (who knew, he wouldn't need to replace the screw because the unnoticeable Gorilla Tape held so well!), and a hundred other things that I just can't think of right now. Most of these repairs haven't needed additional repairs and are 'invisible' (hence why I can't name them all, the repairs hold and blend right in!). Buy two rolls if this is the first time you're using it, because you'll be finding all sorts of reasons to use this stuff and fix things you didn't otherwise know you could fix around your house.

This is very tacky, very clear, and thick. It is comparable tn industrial strength and It would be good to repair a vinyl item. Was used to tape poly carbonate greenhouse panels, taped ends up to seal, and so far it has worked well on a panel but as other users described, it looses tack after a month or so, when outside exposed to the elements. Does not turn yellow, and lasted over a year and still going when used a s a "hinge" for an aquarium lid. Have used this tape universally for a year, and have been satisfied with all applications and uses.

What can I say other than you can't beat Gorilla tape or glue. I've been use their products for years and you just can't beat them. I've use their black tape for things you wouldn't believe & it works unbelievable, can't hardly get the tape of the roll, which means it has good stickum where you need it. This clear tape seems to be the same, I just purchased it for different items or projects. You can't go wrong with any Gorilla product.
