Worked all Year, and it was a wet year - KEEPING DEER OUT OF MY GARDEN
This is the more expensive option for these absorbent socks, and well worth it. No wear or tear or UV degradation. So, what I did was toss these into a 5 gallon bucket, packed em in the bottom, so i didn't have to use any more scented oils than possible, and dumped in about 2 qt of assorted clove, mint, sage, eucalyptus oils and some water to bring it up to top of packed socks. A day later I laid them in a dotted line around a flower bed. Deer nibbled away at plants at other bed, but not that one. They dried out nicely in fall, but if they had been wet when i brought them in, I'd have laid them out in a sheltered area to finish drying out before storing for the winter.fyi I browsed Amazon for bulk sources of scented oils? extractions? Look around, don't buy the little ones carefully made for aroma therapy, the qt size bulk ones work just fine.

work well
These work well and I like that they are cleanable and dryable. They don't absorb water as efficiently as polyacrylate solutions, but you can't have the best of both worlds

Absorbed Quickly
I love this brand. I looked at several other brands. Didn't like the fact that it took so long to dry the product. My sister recommended the Pig Sock and I love it. It dries fast and keeps the water in my walk-in shower in the shower.

Pricey but the best available
I previously purchased another brand which was highly rated at the time but since discontinued, probably because it was total garbage. I don't know why PIG is so expensive, but it works much better than the other brand which cost almost as much. PIG is not an ideal solution, but sometimes you need something quick and simple, and PIG comes thru. It seems to work best with water that is slowly trickling/dribbling rather than bursts of water at a time, because the outer fabric seems to be a tiny bit repellent before it starts absorbing. Overall, it does the trick and I would buy again.

Moisture Wicking Draft Dodger!
Aluminum Windows keep 'weeping' when cold air outside meets metal frame and condenses on inside. We sealed the windows with caulking outside because we thought they were leaking, but it turns out the inside metal window frame caused condensation and dripped down to the window sill. Now the condensate drips down to the PIG draftdodger and gets absorbed without raising the paint on the window sill!!! Perfect product for this situation!

Great for absorbing water
We use one of these in our motorhome along the bottom edge of the windshield. In the mornings there can be a lot of condensation on the windshield and it can run down inside of the firewall where some electronic boxes are mounted. This has caused the electronics to fail or act erratically and can be an expensive repair. This absorbs the water before it gets to that point, cheap insurance!

they kinda work
With yet another big rainstorm here in NJ, I was able to put these PIG socks to the test immediately. During the past winter, we have had a series of big rain events. The subsoil hasn't had a chance to dry out between storms, and I've been getting small seepage puddles along two walls in my basement. The socks did absorb some water, but I suspect it was much less than the claimed capacity. I had plenty of "free" water that did not get absorbed and had to be mopped up. So while the socks DID work to some extent, I'm not sure if my $60+ was well-spent.
