How deep do you dig the holes in the ground?

You don't have to dig any holes. They are like stakes that you push into the ground. Make sure once you push them into the ground that they are firmly placed by placing few pebbles around them for support. Good Luck with your arch.

I lost the instructions for this. Is there a place here or on another site where I can print out a replacement set?

You can just piece it together, lay it on the ground , the arch on the top

How long did it take to assemble?

Very easy to assemble. Took no more than about 10-15 minutes.

can you plant cantaloupes on this?

I wouldn't....they may be a little too heavy for it....in time the weight of the cantaloupes, plus the elements, will probably cause it to start to bend....I have a passion flower vine on it and it holds well...but a heavier vine type such as what you intend may not be the best way...the tubing is only 1/2" ...maybe a 1"x1" would work better. Best to you on your goals!
