Very pleased with this one. It only contains Cetomacrogol emulsifying wax (contains cetostearyl alcohol and macrogol cetostearyl ether), yellow soft paraffin and liquid paraffin. I.e. no perfume, detergents, preservatives etc.The texture is a couple of steps away from pure petrolium jelly. It is thick but soft. Spreads well. Covers well.It's a shame that the ones with added water necessarily have to have preservatives in them because they are nice to use too.I find this one soothing and it doesn't sting me on application.You need to use a clean teaspoon or spatula to take from out of the pot to avoid contamination.I wear cotton and change twice a day, and hot wash to make sure there is no build up on the clothing.2025/04/25 - Thanks very much for the back photographs which prompted me to try this ointment. My face with what looked like lumpy spots under the skin cleared up quickly and I am putting it down (I could be wrong) to the ointment not having preservatives (and I know I have had problems with preservatives before).

Amazing for skin. Can use in bath or shower and afterwards. Really helps extremely dry skin. Massive pot will last a very long time. I work in a hospital and we use it there, which js why I bought some for at home as I knew how good it was.

Very gentle and soothing but putting a thin liquid to be used in a shower into a rigid bottle with a wide neck isn't a good approach. First time I used it, I didn't realise how thin the liquid was, and I lost a load of it all over the shower floor! A squeeze bottle with small opening would be better if thicken the liquid to more like normal shower gel please!

After years of trying to find something to help my skin and not leave me itchy or burning, I tried this! It's only been afew days and there's already amazing signs, my skin is less angry and red, it's not itchy or sore and feels smoother, I am very happy

Works amazing as an alternative to soap in sensitive areas

With the GP cutbacks for some time now I can no longer get this on prescription, they had replaced it with a product from the Poundland range (awful stuff). I have extensive scarring from an operation that went horribly wrong and needs a good quality cream daily.I now purchase Hydromol myself and it is quite expensive, you can buy two Cetraben for the price of one Hydromol but it is well worth it, it's quality and certainly recommend this cream

Shower emollient extremely watery, so not much good for showers.Cream emollient excellent, nice and thick and absorbs well.
