Pros:Resting ridges are pretty stiff and sturdy to keep what you're trying to dry elevated for faster drying with good air flow.Non-slip by nature.Great for a few items (Like an Aeropress) when that's all the space you need.Comes in much larger sizes.Minor Con:The only thing I have to complain about is that when I happened to hold it up to the light I noticed a number of non-functionality-affecting imperfections in its thickness. However when I tested those thinner points they did not really feel any different and the flex strength seemed as good as anywhere else on the mat so I decided it wasn't worth the effort to exchange or return it. If cared for it will likely be just as BIFL without those minor imperfections.Might be something to consider if buying a much larger mat with a much higher level of potential wear, like if you're a bartender for events that require frequent traveling with it.

I do not have the space for a permanent dish drying rack and I was using a cloth type drying mat. I didn’t like having a soaking wet mat so using this silicone mat is perfect. I set the dishes on there and I can either leave them out to air dry or dry them with a dish towel, and then simply shake the water off the mat in the sink roll it up and put it away.

I have dishes that I hand wash and put on a dish towel. I wanted something better and not a foam product that might get moldy. I opted for this silicone mat instead. I got a medium sized one. It is a good size. It has nubs to keep dishes from slipping. The thing is that the water pools inbetween the nubs and stays a bit wet. I put paper towels on it to catch the drops. I still really like it. It looks smart in my kitchen.

I bought one of these to replace the cloth drying pad that was getting dingy. This works so much better. With the cloth pad you can’t just place cups and such flat on the pad or it traps the moisture and they never dry, you have to tilt them so they dry properly. There’s no need to worry about that with this pad.I bought a second smaller one that I roll out along side my stove when I’m cooking a big meal. I use it to set down dirty spoons and hot pot lids while cooking then I throw it in the dishwasher.

I’m so glad I bought this to replace an old spongy foam mat. Those things get gross and never dry. I love that you can put hot items on it as well. I’m also glad I bought the white color. I had it in grey before, but it soon developed a white film (probably calcium deposits from hard water and mildew) and was difficult to remove. With the white one, you can’t even tell. The only reason I’m taking off a star is because the actual size is slightly smaller than what is stated. The 24x18 inch mat actually measures 23.5x17.5 inches. I really would’ve loved it if it were exact in size.

I needed mats to line the working area of a lapidary machine that cuts cabochons from slices of rocks. At times, an abrasive wheel will grab a stone and send it flying, usually to break on the steel liner. These mats ensure a soft landing and undamaged stone. Brilliant!

There are a variety of sizes and colors to fit any need. It holds hand washed items securely and cleans easily. It also works well under mixing bowls and cutting boards for stability on slick counter surfaces.

I use these in the floor by the toilet to put the toilet bowl brush apparatus on. They work in that small space between the sink and toilet and are the right size the toilet bowl brush. Win/Win!

I am very happy with this mat. Very happy! This silicon mat is perfect! Just the perfect size and the ridges do keep water away from the articles put on them. Much less work too. Does not smell like the fabric ones after a couple of days. As for bacteria, well your risk is much less. Most important is that it dries fast. I recommend it. A-1 delivery. No problems.
