Had a few break and when they break you need to disassemble the whole rail - really sucks.

Can also be used to lengthen the baluster
If your baluster is too short you can stack these and use a longer screw.

I don't like them
I've installed the 3/4 round balusters before by making a jig and using a drill press to counterbore holes in the wood. It is difficult and easy to mess up. I saw these and decided to give them a try since it appeared to be easier. Honestly I don't think they saved me any time. The positioning of these has to be perfect. It's hard to get them seated all the way down. The fit of the balusters to these adapters is too tight. I had to use ratchet straps to clamp the rails together. Then used a 3lb hammer and block of wood to beat them into a fully seated position. If I build anymore steps this way I'll go back to a jig and the drill press.
