A Must Have
Great product! Coverage is perfect and I receive many compliments regarding the appearance of my skin. I have invested in many expensive, cosmetic-counter major-brand medium to heavy coverage foundations and found that I no longer need any of these!

Great filters, definitely worth the price!
I was surprised to see some negative reviews here, so I wanted to add my own experience having used these for many years in my Drinkwell 360 fountains (both plastic and stainless steel). First, let me say that I came to Amazon today to order another filter to have on hand, as had to use my backup filter due to dropping one. I was distressed to see it is "unavailable", but that has occurred in the past. I'm hoping that these do come back in stock because in my experience, they have been worth every penny. You save a ton compared to the disposable filters, not to mention keeping all that junk out of landfills. For those of you having difficulty with them, here are a few tips I've found that make them work better:1. Buy quality aquarium charcoal in larger chunks. I've had great success with this particular brand Marineland PA0373 Black Diamond Activated Carbon, 40-Ounce, 1134-Gram , but there are others I'm sure just as good. I've learned to stay away from cheaper ones that often are ground too finely to use in the filter.2. Rinse the charcoal well prior to using. Even if you buy a quality charcoal, there will still be charcoal dust in it. While not harmful, it doesn't make the water look nice and fouls the pre-filter quicker, plus I've found it can leave a slimy residue on the bowl if there is a lot of it. I put the amount of charcoal needed each time into a fine hole tea strainer and then rinse it under water until it runs clear. I've also tried doing this in the filter itself, but find the strainer allows for the most through rinsing. I've also had success rinsing charcoal in larger batches using a colander, then drying the washed charcoal in a thin layer in the sun before storing in the original container. That takes longer, but it is ready to use each time.3. Don't overfill the filter! I've found that half-full is best. When I've used more, it seems to clog faster, possibly because water can't make it through as easily.4. Make sure you use a foam prefilter! Many people seem to skip these, but they make a huge difference as they filter out food particles, fur, saliva, and other yucky stuff and keep it from getting further up into the unit, including the charcoal filter. If I use foam prefilters, I can get 10-14 days on one charge of carbon (I've got three cats), though I usually change the carbon weekly along with cleaning the dishes and filling with fresh clean water. Without the foam prefilters I've had the carbon filters clog in just a few days.5. Keep your fountain clean. While the carbon filter helps to keep the water fresher, it isn't a replacement for regular cleaning. Any water, even if moving through a filter like this, will eventually develop a biofilm. Changing the water in addition to the carbon in the filter helps, but you do need to really scrub the fountain and its parts regularly to keep them clean and the aquarium pump that circulates the water in good condition. Don't expect to put a carbon filter in place and not clean your bowls for weeks on end.Usually I can go 10 days at most before having to clean and refill the filters with fresh carbon. Your mileage may vary depending on the number and type of pets you have, as well as whether you have more than one water dish. I have two stainless 360s running at all times for my three cats, but one of them is older and has kidney failure, so he drinks a ton of water daily. Once you notice water isn't circulating that well, check the carbon because it likely needs to be replaced. For what its worth, I've not had any problems with these filters over the years. When the tubes were made of plastic they fouled more quickly, so I was glad to see the switch to glass. The tradeoff of course is glass can break, but I've only broken two in many years from dropping them. I have found that the company is quite responsive to emails. I do hope they are still in business!

CAUTION: BREAKABLE GLASS -> HOW TO SIMPLY, QUICKLY & INEXPENSIVELY MAKE YOUR OWN UNBREAKABLE FOREVER FILTER
No NOTICEABLE warning notifying buyers that item is BREAKABLE glass. Seller should - at very least - include NOTICEABLE warning so buyers (i.e. those with young children) may decide not to purchase - &/or to handle this item accordingly (& so amazon reps may pack item properly). Rather surprised that seller / manufacturer hadn't already considered this potential liability issue. After receiving item with broken glass, promptly called amazon and received full credit. After reading some of the negative reviews more thoroughly, determined that both the seller AND amazon have been aware of glass breakage problems with this item for +/- 5 years (& counting...). How is this possible - especially after +/- 5 years? Someone (or more) really dropped the ball on this.HOW TO SIMPLY, QUICKLY & INEXPENSIVELY MAKE YOUR OWN UNBREAKABLE FOREVER FILTER (which will actually last FOREVER):1. If/when Forever filter glass breaks, reclaim plastic top & bottom.2. Go to plumbing dept of local home center & (for a mere +/- $1.24, tax incl.) locate 1&1/4” diameter white plastic pipe. NOTE: Pipe probably will be longer than needed for filter.3. Simply measure 2&3/4”, mark the pipe & use hacksaw &/or sharp utility &/or other knife to slowly/carefully* cut soft white plastic pipe to proper filter length. *Soft white pipe cuts EXTREMELY easily with hacksaw.4. Edges may be rough – simply smooth/round them with sand paper &/or by scraping with back edge of knife.5. Rinse the 2&3/4” length, 1&1/4” diameter plastic pipe & Forever filter end pieces under warm or hot water (just prior to fitting them together) & they’ll fit together perfectly.6. That’s it – you’re done. You now have an actual FOREVER filter.p.s. A): Those without the plastic top & bottom of glass Forever filter can channel their own ‘inner-MacGyver’ (get creative) via obtaining small pieces of stainless steel screen mesh from home center &/or hardware store - in order to build more effective, custom-size, permanent end screens for filters.Ask home center &/or hardware store rep for help locating potential plastic filter pipe end fittings (caps) with openings into which you can fit the ss mesh pieces. Or perhaps you can find/use the end cap of an empty plastic spice shaker, etc.p.s. B): Try carefully cutting top off of plastic disposable filter with hacksaw or utility knife - to see if carbon can simply be dumped & refilled with fresh carbon. If so, then:1. Attach short length of either stainless steel wire, fishing line or string to bottom screen of plastic disposable filter & run it up through filter, cutting it +/- 2 inches longer than the filter.2. Refill disposable filter with fresh carbon.3. Reattach the cut off top of the disposable filter by running the wire, line or string through the plastic mesh top (may have to loop it through mesh twice - in order to keep the top filter from coming off).4. Secure top by: A) either bending the wire or tying the string to the plastic handle, or - better yet: B) having the wire, line or string permanently attached to a small stainless steel screw - which can easily be screwed into & out of the top plastic mesh, each time that one wishes to change the charcoal.**Use same method (with ss screw) to attach wire, line or string to bottom screen.May seem a tad much - but a lot simpler than described & a LOT cheaper than (repeatedly) overpaying for disposable &/or breakable filters. Bought a 100 oz container of charcoal PELLETS** via amazon. Best deal & should last a lifetime.**Pellets MUCH better than standard charcoal for a few reasons: A) water flows better through bigger pellets, B) they're that much easier to rinse prior to initial use, & C) bigger pellets don't clog filter screens by getting lodged in openings.TTFN
