To me, these are a step-up from the "leading brand" shorts I've been buying for comfort, although they do not have a zippered pocket and are just a little heavier fabric so won't dry instantly. They dry almost-instantly, so good enough for rain, sitting on a wet bench, and hiking as long as you can take an extra few minutes to dry so you won't have all the problems resulting from walking wet (I am expecting the "leading brand" to excel here but don't know yet).The front pockets (hands and cargo) are a little larger - enough for easy micro EDC access in a sticky (like a P365) although it can shift to lie sideways. I feel like the fabric is more reliable, too, but time will tell since these are not a mesh and there's a seam on the bottom with a drain-hole and a silky fabric against your skin.There's no stretch to the fabric but the waist band seems more giving... again, it may fail leaving these much looser than the "leading brand" which seems to have about half of the stretch (I can't tell since mine have broken down long ago).The cargo pocket velcro is a bit too substantial - you'll need two hands at first to separate the flap. I'd prefer at least one zipper like the "leading brand" usually has.So, overall I prefer these so far to the "leading brand" because of comfort, the more substantial material, and pocket size. I can live with the few other differences. Whether they last as long will be questionable, but I can actually see through my years-old daily-wear "leading brand" shorts so not sure if that really matters.

Bass Pro shops used to sell shorts almost exactly like these but have discontinued selling them. These are great shorts just like the Bass Pro Shop fishing shorts of the past. When they get wet they dry very quickly. The shorts are comfortable and are quite durable. I currently own 3 pair of them and recommend them to anyone who is looking for lightweight, moisture wicking, comfortable shorts that have cargo and slit pockets.

Let me start by saying that I bought a pair a year ago, and I absolutely loved them. I knew what I was buying and hoped that they hadnt changed anything with these shorts. Before vacation to Lake Havasu this year for Desert Storm, I decided to buy a couple more pair. I got the same khaki color and a glacier color which I wish I bought more of.The shorts are the perfect length and fit. They are definitely high quality throughout. The stitching is solid and reinforced in strategic areas. I haven't tried the blood resistance yet but will take them fishing soon here in Ohio. I will definitely be testing that claim but I have no doubt that they will deliver on their promise. These look great with a dress shirt, tshirt, or no shirt at all! The only thing I found is that they do run a tad small in the waist. I ordered 36 inch waist which are perfect for me-a 34" waist. Well maybe 35".My wife loves these shorts and hopefully will buy me a couple Glacier colored pair for my birthday.Give them a try. You won't be disappointed. I am 5'11" and 205 lbs. My leg are a little shorter as I have a longer torso so I don't like shorts hanging below my knees. These end just above my kneecap. If you have long legs, they will be a little higher but wont, by any means, be short shorts.

Nice but returned due to fit and color. Size up is my recommendation.

My partner works in a plant conservatory where he gets a lot of dirt and plant sap on his clothes. These shorts are amazing in resisting stains. It's also lightweight and breathes well which is great since the conservatory is hot and humid. He loves all the pockets. I used to get him an assortment of different shorts, but these are pretty much all he wears, so I've gotten him several pairs in several colors. He's pretty hard on his clothes, but these have held up very well. Definitely worth the price.

My husband lives in these shorts. They are comfortable and nice weight.
