A way to slow down and enjoy the process of making a cup of tea
If you want to smell the roses and slow life down so that you enjoy the process of being alive this is a great buy. It heats the water at the same rate as every other teapot but there's something friendly about this teapot that makes you slow down. I enjoy the waiting for it to put out it's little toot of steam and enjoy holding the top on when I pour it into my cup and enjoy the sinuousness of watching the water pouring slowly into my cup. My tea tastes better poured from this little short and stout teapot. They claim that you should pour out the once boiled water and not make any more tea with it. So this teapot ( the big one says it holds 6 cups but I think they mean 6 Japanese teacups, not American) so there is no point in filling up a liter teapot full of water for one person and then throwing it out. I am the only one who drinks tea a lot at home so for me it's perfect. I pour in enough water for maybe one and a half cups American, pour my cup of tea, dump any water remaining, rinse the pot with cold water and tilt the top open to let it dry out. It's making me some clean clear tea. I think of it as a helpful little friend who just does what is required and does a great job. I have a big tea kettle for the times when more is needed but this is just for my tea.

Works well but lid pops off
Decent tread kettle. Boils water super fast on my induction stove top. Lid blows off every time I use it. Seller said that is normal. They should make the lid tighter.

Wonderful
This is a high quality teapot made in Japan!! It works great and the perfect size for my family. When the water is boiling, steam comes out of the top holes to let you know. I love it!

Quality! Tad bit small.
Made well with a good design. Doesn't whistle but quietly rumbles and shoots jets of steam upwards through vents when boiling. The handle is not hot overall except on the verge of hot near the top attachment area. I can use this nearly full tea kettle to fill a typical plunge style coffee pitcher, which is perfect but then the tea kettle is fully dry. Which causes me to fear the risk of heating a dry kettle.

This is a very well-made little kettle
I like this little kettle and it does exactly what it's supposed to do. However, i need it to be just a bit bigger. I use it for pour-over coffee and make my coffee for several days and i like big cups of coffee.

poor quality
I have been on a search for the perfect pour over kettle. This is not it. It is very light weight, feels cheap, and the lid is loose fitting so you have to hold onto it or remove it to pour the boiled water. I want a sturdy large capacity pour over with no thermometer. I really dislike that feature that has become standard for nearly all pour overs. My existing beehive kettle is nice and sturdy. Weighs the same empty as this one does when full. This one is not worth the money.
