Pearl Izumi X Alp Seek V
I've been riding my Trek road bike with these Pearl Izumi shoes along with Speedplay Frog pedals/cleats for the past two years. When I'm off the bike, the shoes are comfortable and easy to walk around in. Going with clipless shoes/pedals was the best investment I've made in cycling. I wear a 9.5 and purchased a size 44. Previous reviewers were correct in ordering a size larger. A 44 was perfect... but they are a little tight when I wear thicker winter socks for cold weather rides, but that's no big deal. When I wear these out, I'll probably go with a 45 for more room. These shoes are well made with sturdy soles plus good fabric and should last for years. I highly recommend Pearl Izumi shoes to road cyclists who dislike typical road cycling shoes which are hard to walk around in when off the bike.

Solid Performer
I purchased this pair of shoes for my commuter/gravel grinder. I use them with Crank Brothers Eggbeaters. Once I learned where the cleat was on the shoe, getting in and out of the pedals was very easy. They are good for walking around without the contanst click clack and occasional slip of my road shoes. I did order a half size larger (on the US scale) than I normally would. Even then, they are a bit tighter than I would have hoped. However, I think the next size up would have been too large, so I did not feel the need to return them.I deducted a star less for the shoes and more for the seller. I don't generally like to do that, but if you do buy from Amazon, take note that they do not ship it in a Pearl iZUMi box or with any of the literature that should come with the shoe. It's just two shoes in a generic carboard box. A friend bought these at our LBS and can confirm that is not how the come from the manufacturer. I wouldn't care about this expect there was a wear mark on one of the shoes either from the cheap packaging or due to the fact that these were used/returned and that was not disclosed. In summary... Good shoe, runs small, don't buy from Amamzon unless they fix the packaing issues.

Great Cycling Shoe!
I bought these shoes for my husband because he wanted to get clipless pedals for his bike. I did a lot of research trying to find him a good shoe, especially because he is very picky about shoes. I went to REI to check out the shoe in person. The salesperson there said that it was a good shoe. I also liked that the cleats were recessed. The reviews said that the shoe ran a little small. However, Amazon didn't have his size in stock. I decided to take a risk and buy his normal shoe size, since Amazon had free returns anyway. The shoe was a little snug and can't be worn with thick socks. However, my husband really likes them and hasn't had any issues with them rubbing or causing discomfort. I also think the shoes may have stretched out a little. The cleats aren't as protected as I expected. They still hit against the concrete. I'm worried that they may get worn down, so I am thinking about buying him some covers for the cleats.

Terrific Product
First things first. What all the other reviewers say is absolutely true - buy a full size larger than usual. I am a 45 (Euro) in every other pair I own. I bought a 46 in these and they fit great. They are wonderfully light and comfortable and I have enjoyed doing spin classes in them. One thing to bear in mind, they are softer than regular cycling shoes (they don't have a hard, solid last as harder cycling shoes do), so when you come out of the saddle, you'll feel the pedal press in a more focused way into your foot. Takes a little getting used to, but these are terrific shoes.

Comfortable, Stylish, and Practical
Reading the reviews on this shoe, I did what everyone else recommended, I ordered one size larger than what I normally take. In most shoes I take a 11.5 - 12, but I ordered a 13 (48) and it fits perfectly, so anyone looking to buy these shoes should heed that advice. Besides that, I am very happy with the look and feel of this shoe, not to mention that they are about half the price of a typical bike shoe. I am not a real long distance rider, I will typically will go 20 - 40 miles per outing and these shoes seem to work well for that. My old shoes are also Pearl Izumi's that I've had for about 10 years and generally speaking I like them. The one complaint I had with my old shoes was I didn't like the Velcro traps, because I've always had problems with them becoming loose on me. That is what attracted me to these shoes, I really like the shoe lace ties that tuck into the pouch on the top of the shoe, so I will not be dealing with loose Velcro straps on these shoes. But I also like how they look and feel like a running shoe. I feel like if I bike somewhere, I could hop off my bike and go for a hike in these shoes without any problem.

Great shoe, great price
I bought these shoes to go with my tricross bike that I am using for commuting. I decided to go with the mountain bike shoe over the regular road shoe because they are more multi-use, and can be work around after the ride with great comfort.I am around an 11 to 11 1/2 in regular shoes, so I decided to go with the slightly larger size in these, and that proved to be a good idea. These may run a tad small. The 11 1/2 size sits snug. As far as the features go, there is a pouch to stuff your laces after they are tied. This is on the tongue of the shoe, and keeps the laces well out of the way, great feature! The shoe is really breathable, and the tread gives great traction.Perfect buy for the money.

Runs small, looks great and seems functional
I bought these for my husband a year ago and he loves them. He likes to bike on trails, not road biking, and his old pair were looking worn and were from years ago. Decided to go with these as I liked the rubber sole, looks like you can get some traction if you find yourself having to get off and pull your bike anywhere.I followed the suggestions of others and ordered a size up, which fit him perfectly. He's been extremely happy with the functioning and looks of this pair.

Spitzenprodukt
