Good quality and fit, soft

I waited a couple months to write this review because I wanted to really give this pillow a good test run. I can now honestly give it a 5-star rating. I'm mostly a left-side sleeper & like to put my are under the pillow. I like to nap on my back. I'm a restless sleeper & change positions frequently & many times during the night shift the position of the pillow, including turning it over. All of that has stopped with this pillow. I will still change positions 2 or 3 times before I get to sleep (insomnia) & this pillow is great no matter which position I'm in. No need to change position of the pillow, just my body. My neck pain is totally gone because of the support this pillow provides in all positions. I've put my arm under this pillow a couple times, I guess out of habit, and each time pulled it out. I didn't like the weight of the water on my arm. While on my back, I sleep up higher on the pillow with my shoulders actually up on the lower edge. On my side, I just use the corner of the pillow. That seems to be where I get the best support. I'm sure it will be different for different body types (I'm female, 57 years, 5'2" 200lbs). I really didn't believe a pillow could make this much of a difference in both my neck pain (pinched nerve) & in my quality of sleep (probably sleep better because the pain is gone). The pillow arrived full size (not folded or rolled) in a large box with easy-to-read instructions on how much water to add. I added the smallest amount included in the suggestions figuring it would be easier to add more later than to pour some out. I've never had to add water. I like it just the way it is.

We purchased these pillow covers for our recently purchased water pillows (which we both love!) and are quite pleased. I took them out of the package and was very impressed with just how soft they feel! Very nice and adequate quilting. My only issues - and the reason I am giving a 4 star and not a 5 star - are: 1)that they are handwash only (I try not to buy anything if it can't go in my washer and dryer)and I don't recall seeing that in the description, 2)I wish the zipper key was either not as big or could be easily hidden as I do feel it through my pillow case and 3)I wish the quilting was on both sides so we didn't feel the water pillow plug as much as we do. But I would probably purchase these again.UPDATE 3/10/12: I admit I didn't think to look on the care instructions when I threw these in the wash today and then while I was reviewing my reviews I read what I wrote...LOL! We have an almost year old HE washer and dryer. I washed these on the 'delicate' and 'warm water' settings with my Premier Softspun sheets (these wash settings are what's on the sheets) and dried them together on low and they came out beautiful! But I still wish the zipper could be hidden as it does irritate me some nights if I happen to grab at that corner of my pillow.

This pillowcase is not for sleep, too rough. I slept on it for one night, that was it. I am using a regular pillowcase on my water pillow.

Very happy this was an option to purchase. I have everything protected, just in case. This case doesn’t take anything away from the pillow. If anything it adds just a little bit of extra cushion on the one side. Great purchase!

I have owned a half dozen or so Mediflow Waterbase pillows over the years, and I always use the quilted pillow cover. It provides an extra, cushiony feel and keeps the (expensive! I use the down version) pillow itself clean and fresh. It's easier and cheaper to wash or replace the pillow cover than to replace the pillow. Yes, it's quilted on one side only, but why would you need it quilted on both sides? The Waterbase Pillow can only be used on one side. You sleep on the soft, down or foam padded side--never on the water-bladder side of the pillow.

The quilting is only on one side ... WTF?If you are using it for you pillow, I guess that means that you have to be sure that you pillow is facing "up," because there will be a softer and less-soft side.This product was basically half of what I was looking for.

I really like this pillow cover. It specifically fits the chiroflow pillow and it fits like a glove. I imagine you could use it for other pillows of the same size. But with the water pillow it adds a nice little cushiony feel between you and the pillow. I thought maybe it would interfere with the functionality of the pillow but not the case. Couldn't imagine sleeping on my pillow now without it!! It just makes my pillow nice and soft now. I may even get a couple spares to have on hand. Also the way they keep making everything cheaper the quality may not be as good down the road. But I really like it and would absolutely recommend it.

This pillow protector exceeded expectations, it doesn’t hamper the function of the water pillow and is very cooling. Would recommend.

I have had a bad neck for years and despite using a Tempur pillow, I woke up every morning feeling like I had been in a fight. I was regularly seeing an osteopath to relieve the worst of it, and taking pain killers most day. When I got the Mediflow pillow, I was sceptical - it is a slightly weird thing to have and I didn't enjoy the one time I slept on a water bed. But after just one night, my neck pain had dramatically improved - and after 2 weeks I haven't had to take a pain killer once. It was slightly fiddly to fill up - I have 5l in mine as I like a really firm pillow, and it was tricky to get the air out properly without sloshing water over the whole thing. But once I had it the way I like, I found it to be utterly fantastic. It is firm without being solid, it moulds to your neck instantly and it isn't sloshy like a water bed - it basically feels like a normal pillow but with more flexibility. Highly recommended.
