bickering that will have you laughing the entire way through
Forget You, Ethan: Whitney G.Forget you, Ethan! All Rachel Dawson ever wanted since she was seven years old was a friend who would write letters with her. But no one wanted to. She had no friends, at all. They all thought she was weird and not a normal because she didn’t play dress-up or with dolls. Why would she play with that dumb stuff? She had action figures, comics, cool stuff, not some pink frilly stuff.Forget you, Rachel! All Ethan Wyatt ever wanted since he was seven years old was a best friend to play with, that was a boy. The whole neighborhood was filled with girls, stupid girls. He had enough. One day, a new family was moving up the street. He swore his dad said they had a son, but what was he faced with when he met the new family? A girl! Another stupid girl!Ethan begrudgingly introduced himself to her, and she immediately wanted to be friends. He rolled his eyes, but that’s when he saw all her cool stuff. He thought he could be okay with her cause of her stuff, but then she brought up something about weird letter writing. He made fun of her, and she, well saying she didn’t take it well was an understatement. From then on, they both hated each other, forget you!As the years passed, they would send letters to each other detailing how much they hated one another, but when it finally came to college they went their separate ways. Or so they thought. They ended up going to the same school. So, Rachel decides to spend her college years abroad, thinking it will be glamorous and romantic. What she hadn’t expected was the complete opposite. She felt isolated and alone, like she did throughout her school years, but this time, she had no one to hate. So, she began writing Ethan all over again.Three years later, Ethan’s finishing up school and still writing those ghastly letters to the most annoying person on earth! And he was still pissed that she burned his Captain America action figure! He had gotten her back though. He destroyed her Wonder Woman action figure. Served her right, too. He had done nothing to her and she went bat crazy all over his stuff.Without either one of them aware that they their deep-seeded hatred is actually attraction for one another, they crossed so many lines throughout the years that there’s no possible way for either of them to ever see the other in a different light. Or is there? Rachel comes back from her schooling abroad and faces her worst reality yet. See what happens when these two enemies finally butt heads in person. This read is one of my all-time favorite books. I needed some levity a few yrs back and this came up on my suggested reads in KU. I tried it out from the pigtail pulling synapsis and I've been hooked ever since. Every book of Whitney G.s is a diamond. They are never predictable; you laugh and love and keep re-reading. There's nothing I can say against this book or really any others, well, except that they are either over too soon or there's not enough of them. I don't really pay attention if there are editing errors or not because if they are any, they aren't blaringly obvious, which is what I mainly look for. I hate when reviewers go ham on attacking books because of a few editing errors. The only time I'd add something like it if it detracted from the story itself. And since, Whitney G's books, I've never encountered any.Anyway. I love this book - it's hilarious and light. If ever you need to take your mind off reality, this is definitively a good read. It's sweet, but not cozy sweet. There is funny wit and bickering through the whole so even when they get together, their still bickering and holding onto their initial behaviors of each other. That's one thing I look for when reading enemies to lovers - it usually completely drops off when they get together and for some reason forget why they disliked each other in the beginning but with Whitney G's books, you get their continued personality throughout. It's awesome.

I wish I had an enemy like this!
I just loved this book! So true how young boys and girls hate each other, when adults see it differently. The spark was always there. I liked how the author went back and forth between present and past and revealed the love they had for each other as it grew in the present. Sorry this is so vague but I don’t want to give anything away!

Frenemies would best describe these two.
Ethan and Rachel have been enemies since they were 7=years-old. Rachel pushed him down the stairs upon their first meeting. So began their love/hate relationship. I'm going to be honest, Rachel was a confusing character for me. She was quite hot-headed and lashed out instead of using rational thought a lot of the time in this book. She barreled through life with an almost childlike quality about her. She really didn't have any real friends and that was kind of sad to me. Ethan excelled at school and friends and, in his own way, helped Rachel throughout their childhood. Fast forward to present day and you find them seeing each other for the first time in 3 years. Rachel opted to take her first 3 years at college on their "sea" course which was hard for me to wrap my head around. She wants to take her senior year at their actual college so she bumbles into town assuming she has a place to live. Turns out, she doesn't and so winds up sharing a house with Ethan and another friend, Greg. She and Ethan start to discover what everyone else around them already knows - they don't hate each other but love each other instead. It took a lot of stops and starts but they start to get their acts together. Rachel did try and tell Ethan what to do with the rest of his life and felt it was okay not to be supportive of what she perceived as his selling out. I thought she should have owned up to her part in their disagreements. I did like how the book ended for now. Overall a good read.

Delightful, fun, sweet & sexy
As with Forget you, Carter this book follows Rachel & Ethan from age 7 through adulthood. They continue writing each other into their 20's. The letters are so much fun, I laughed so hard my stomach hurt! I'll admit to have cried once or twice & might have yelled at them to "just talk to each other", but, I still loved every minute. Both of these books were so cleverly written & the endings were...you'll have to read for yourself. So glad to have found both books & I'm wondering if Take Care Taylor will come out? Thank you Whitney G!!!!

Very good
It's a really good read and Whitney has done a great job again. I feel I had moments I didn't like Rachel too much but then she'd do something nice and I warmed up to her again. I did miss a bit some more explanation as to why Rachel was having so many problems with making friends, but the story was very nice.

Best of Frenemies.
This book had me hooked from the start. Fabulously written and engaging from the beginning to the end.Ethan Wyatt and Rachel Wyatt have hated each other since the day that they met when they were seven and a half. Ethan was sick of only having girls around and was hoping for a boy to hang out with and although Rachel and he liked a lot of the same things he decided that she wasn’t worth the time still being a girl and that’s when their war started when she pushed him down the stairs. Over the years of their childhood they torment each other at every available opportunity. Telling tales on each other and then taking their revenge, but there is one thing that these two cannot stay away from each other each having to know what is happening in the other’s lives. They may think that they are enemies but they are always there for one another when things go bad. They are now in college and Rachel opted to do her courses via “Semester at sea” keeping her hate/ hate relationship with Ethan via letters to each other where they try to outdo each other in every way always signing off with Forget You. Rachel is finally ready to have a real college experience, but finds herself with nowhere to live and to both of their surprise ends answering Ethan’s advert for a roommate. Needing someone to move in quickly it’s a no brainer and that’s when the fun starts. After years of hating each other they realise that they could have something so much more and the spark and chemistry between them is combustible. Ethan and Rachel change from Frenemies to lovers that is until Ethan makes a decision that destroys everything that they had built together. Can he show her that he doesn’t think of her as a fling and show her that their love started when they were seven and a half or will she turn him away? This is a brilliantly written book told from each characters POV and I loved the way that we saw how they evolved as children and the strength of the friendship they shared. It’s fun, sexy and sweet. Oh id say this is unforgettable…..

I love enemies to lovers
I love enemies to lovers trope in romance novels because there’s always that back and forth banter going on and that’s my favourite part!
