Nice looking board. The trucks are plastic, so I'm returning it.
I was looking for a skateboard for my kids better than the $15 Academy or Walmart skateboards....something not too expensive but decent for beginners. I read many good reviews about the Powell Golden Dragon Flying Dragon complete skateboard....but they were older reviews online including on Amazon.I prefer metal trucks on a skateboard, but the ad description was not specific only saying the trucks were Golden Dragon make. Photos on the ad also show black trucks with black wheels and a aluminum-looking truck with white wheels, and the Answered Questions area (answers from 2017) said the trucks were metal.....so I assumed I would receive a skateboard with metal trucks. This skateboard arrived quickly, and my first impression was that it was nicely constructed and looked great overall....and it's probably a good skateboard. However, the skateboard I received had black plastic trucks. The product probably changed since the early 2016-2017 reviews here. I will be returning this skateboard.I attached two photos:There's an information packet that comes with the skateboard that says the trucks are cast aluminum, but ironically it's attached to the black plastic truck as shown in my photo. The other photo shows a aluminum truck with white wheels and a board with black trucks and black wheels.....this mislead me to believe that I would be getting a skateboard with aluminum trucks.

purty dad-gum good
I use to skateboard when I was a teenager and decided to live the dream again. I'm 37 now. Getting back on is like riding a bike. The complete product is decent. It's an out sourced product made in China. And they seem to boost about this for some reason. Everything looks and feels to be well made. I would recommend for any first time skaters.Too the negative reviews, You will have to make adjustments! As with any skateboard, people! That's like buying a bike and expecting it to fit any rider. You have to adjust the seat and handlebars. If you've never ridden a skateboard you should probably not write a review on one. Here's a breakdown of each component:The Trucks.Good trucks. The only thing I'm going to replace is the truck bushings. $10 bucks for replacements. These trucks are way to soft for ME. They might be ok for others. It's a personal preference and I like my bushings to be firm. Meaning when you lean from side to side, it's how easy or hard the board turns. I am 200 lbs so hard bushings work better for me. Bones makes great replacement bushings for soft, medium, and firm. $10 on Amazon. Right now I have my trucks cranked down so much that the board will not return to center. So instead of going straight, it will slightly go left or right if your not on it. So if you're trying to tighten your trucks up to take some slop out you're better off just getting stiffer bushings instead of crunching theses softies beyond their abilities. The wheels/bearings.Great. They have a nice spin and only time will tell about the wheels but they seem to be pretty good for street skating. Not too hard or soft. The deck.Looks and feels nice. The grip tape is excellent and the graphics are clean. Not why I bought this board though. This area is where it lost a star from me. The deck is made in China. But that's why it's cheaper than most. Maple wood in North America it's going to cost a bit more and last longer.Overall this is great for the beginner or someone who dabbles. I got mine for $57 on the "other offers from.." basically the ones that got returned for some reason. And it looked brand new with all the tags.No one will be disappointed with this deck. Just remember you may have to replace the bushings if you don't like softies. Go ahead and order the medium or firm with your purchase.

Great Entry-Level Board
I bought 3 of these (1 for myself and 2 for my kids) and I'm happy with my purchase. If you want the short version of my review, here it is: this is an awesome first board for kids and adults alike. If you are looking for a good board on the cheap, buy it. And now on to the more detailed review...## Wheels / BearingsThe basic tradeoff on wheels is: softer wheels give you increased ease/smoothness of ride and harder wheels are better for doing tricks and they roll faster. The wheels this board ships with are 99a Durometer (the "hardness" rating) which are on the harder/trick-friendly side of the spectrum. They are 54mm in diameter which is a great all-around size and a good starting point for somebody who doesn't know what they want yet. The bearings are actually pretty good and the wheels roll smoothly.## TrucksThe Trucks came set up pretty much how I like them (though it's subjective and you might want to fine-tune them). They seem to be OK quality. Maybe a tiny bit flimsy but we'll see how they hold up. They are pretty impressive for the price of the board (you can buy trucks that alone cost about as much as this complete board).## DeckThe deck is pretty standard. Seems to have a good amount of stiffness/pop. The griptape isn't bad (which I only mention because the griptape on so-called Walmart boards is a disgrace). The design looks pretty good.## SummaryFor the price, it seems like the value here is hard to beat. I wanted to get my kids and I something we could learn on but didn't want to break the bank. This board is perfect for that. All 3 of us have been skating every day and the boys are practicing tricks already.

My son loved it. As a former skater
My son loved it. As a former skater, I gotta say this skateboard is great! the trucks are set perfectly and the wheels are loose as a goose, which is a good thing! Just a couple of pushes and you are off gliding. So far so good! I know it says that the boards are made here in the USA but, there was a sticker on it that said made in china.ADDED 10/19/2018 Its a great starter board. Bought this board two years ago on Amazon. Came with a DVD to watch from Powell Skateboard company. Overall, we used the board for a good year, and then lost interest in skateboarding, but we still have the board there collecting dust, and if I wanted to, I could easily take it out for a ride. Good sturdy board, excellent for a first timer. Plenty of grip tape too.
