Shimano Caenan 100 Baitcasting Reel (6.5:1), Right Hand, 10 Pounds/155 Yards

Shimano does it again!This reel is smooth as silk and casts like a dream. Fine tuning was quick, 2-3 casts and I had it where it needed to be. For a mid-level reel this one is hard to beat. Its no Curado, but then again its no where near the price! If you're a professional bass fisherman you may not be interested in this after you've tried the other 200$+ rigs out there. But if you're like me, and fishing is a hobby/passion then you really cant go wrong with this bad boy.3 months and going strong, no problems. Still smooth as the first day it came outta the box. Ill update in a few months.

This is a Christmas gift for my dad, but he did let me use the new reel for a while on our recent fishing trip. The action is smooth right out of the box, allowing for precise casts every time. The drag is easy to set and this reel is a pleasure to use.

Looks like it was used.. when cleared it said new. The parts on the handle looked like they were replaced. Reel makes noise when cranked!

This is the best reel I have ever used. I had another one that I let my son have and I got this one to replace it. Great, smooth casting. Seller was great with fast shipping. I am so very satisfied with this reel.

Great for the money. Super smooth. I'm not sure if they will hold up like their higher end sisters but I have fished a couple for a year, are holding up so far. Btw, I fish a lot.

This new reel has been a blast on my fishing trips; catching quite a few fish in the local salt water marshes and waterways.I have Stren 10 lb low vis green on it and my casts distance is hard to believe.I love the star drag where I can have a strong set point and when a big fish gets on lowering the drag setting whilefighting the fish is done in an instant, thus keeping control of the fish.I am 72 years old and working with this reel is a dream, especially on the bird nest back lash issue; they arevery minimal. Using the Stren 10lb line and this reel together is great. I have caught several speckeled seat troutand door mat size flounder on it and also let a huge flounder get off, eeehhhh.Did not have him hooked good.This reel is rated salt and fresh, with easy to set controls and it does better than an old one I have.Of course I am a Shimano fan and had a fish pull in a two year old Shimano rig about three months ago.First time I ever lost a rig to a fish.

I have been using Shimano reels for over 20 years and they could always be counted on for quality and longevity. Not so anymore. Been through 2 of these and that is enough. Poor quality and parts and can't take the grind of everyday fishing. Sure it looks good and sleek and it has the history of the name but that's where it ends. One word describes the inside of this reel...plastic. Both broke down after 6-8 weeks, I used them every day casting 3/8 to 1/2 oz. rattle traps and that was all. If you do a lot of fishing then don't waste your time and put the money into something better built as these reels really are junk. I'm sorry to say that Shimano is just another company that's not what it used to be. I repeat, if you cast a lot then don't buy this reel because it won't last. Been fishing all my life....

I have fished Shimano for years and I fish allot. I was not sure about this lower price model but have been really surprised at the quality and performance of this reel, As with all Shimano products this reel is very well made and performs very well. For the money I would highly recommend this product.
