The Library of Piano Classics

I took classical piano lesson from ages 8-18, so about 10 years. I'd say I reached advanced intermediate level, and gave a solo recital as a high school senior playing pieces like Chopin's Polonaise Militaire, which was my favorite. Then in college I had no time for piano, and pretty much stopped playing. That was 40 years ago.Fast forward to today. I'm way rusty, but I figured I'd try to get back on the horse, so to speak. Ordered this book based on the reviews, and it came today. I spent probably 2+ hours reconnecting with familiar friends like some Bach preludes and Chopin nocturnes, and found some new one's I'd like to learn. Although my fingers need some retraining, I was surprised how quickly it came back to me, and I'm very pleased with the level of the pieces in this collection. Most of them are just right for me. As others have said, this is not book for beginners. Intermediate or advanced intermediate, though there are a few simpler pieces sprinkled here and there. And the spiral binding is great.

I love the collection of music pieces in the book and I love the binding, which removes the stress of the book closing while you play! The best music collection book I have after more than a decade of use!

Okay so I said in a previous review that if I had to keep only one book to play from, it would be "The Piano Bench Of Classical Music" available here on Amazon. I am not disputing that it is indeed a great book to have in your collection because it really is, but over time I'm finding myself grabbing this particular book (Library Of Piano Classics) to play from because of the vast array of enjoyable songs. 350 pages, 90 intermediate/advanced songs, plastic coil binding, GREAT SELECTION OF SONGS OVERALL! I had intended to buy "easy" classics, but this collection has many wonderful selections that can be played easily by an intermediate level pianist.

I am a professional pianist and am using this collection for ballet classes at the college where I teach. Lots of good music that is 90% sightreadable if you are well trained. Many of the themes are highly recognizable so the dancers seem to enjoy the music even more.

I have had this collection for many years, and purchased it several times for other young pianists. It really is an essential library. The spiral notebook makes it easy for the pages to lay flat. I also purchased the other volume in the white cover version.

All the best classics, spiral bound which of course makes page turning so much easier, and there is fingering written in as well, which is SO helpful! Great book!

Bought this a a gift, recipient was very pleased with the quality of the arrangements

I am a piano teacher and gave this to one of my long time students as he started school. My only caution to others is that this is mostly advanced music so make sure you are up for the challenge!

J'ai les 2 tomes de ce livre, achetés ensemble il y a 7 ans et je les utilise toujourset j'ai racheté les mêmes pour un ami.Très bonne qualité papier, bonne qualité des partitions (avec une bonne taille des notes sur les partitions),parfois avec les doigtés. Attention, ce sont les vrais morceaux (pas du easy piano), il y a des morceaux pour tous les niveaux. C'est un très bon rapport qualité prix.

Bella raccolta di brani famosi... speravo un po' più facili da eseguire, comunque comoda la spirale per aprire il libro senza distruggerlo! Consigliato '
