What if I only use one of the air line outlets And leave the other one off will this cause extra noise or take away from the performance

Yes! An “OPEN” outlet will be pretty loud. You hear the air pumping out of the open outlet (and you’re not gonna get great performance). BUT- This air filter comes with everything you need, so: If you only need a single air line, attach tubing to both outlets and connect them to 2 sides of one splitter. Run one tube out of the splitter into your tank. Problem solved. Adjust the flow on the pump for as much or a little airflow as you need! Good pump.

do they make aquarium air pumps with on and off switches ????

PLEASE NOTE Make sure you use the included return flow valves. .When the power goes off water can be sucked up the tubes and into the pump. Water and electricity don't mix. That's why the return flow valves and why there is no on off switch

I am using this for a food grade application. I need to use a food grade hose. Any idea of the inner or outer diameter in inches?

it uses standard airline tubing with a 3/16" inner diameter.

Is this powerful enough to run both air stone and sponge filter

I run exactly that in a 10 gallon tank. One of the supplied stones seen in the product pics, and it works well.
