Artscape Rice Paper Window Film, 24" x 36", Textured

I was skeptical, but my husband wanted to get rid of the bulky shades. It definitely provides privacy in our first floor powder room. It 's different and more sleek looking.

For a client of mine I needed to purchase some window film for 3 windows and a door. I didn't have any experience with any of these manufactures so the question was where to start. I read the reviews here and decided to take my chance with a company called "Artscape" and purchased two rolls 24x36 and chose the rice paper look. I thought the price for the quantity was a bit high but with free shipping I went ahead and ordered. It arrived in less then a week and was happy to see that the second roll included a squeegee. Not having any experience installing window film before I expected the worst but found the whole experience wonderful and very easy to say the least! The quality and ease of use is exactly as the manufacture claims. The project was finished in no time and my client decided to have additional windows done so I went back to Amazon to make an additional purchase but this time made the mistake of choosing another manufacture called "Gila" because it was cheaper, for a larger quantity and also because I foolishly thought that all window was basically the same. Well let me tell you that was a big mistake!! The product arrived and it was a world apart from the "Artscape" product. The Gila is much thinner material, it has a adhesive material on the back (which tends to stick to itself if your not careful). It does not have the feel or look of the "Artscape" product. After about 30 minutes I just gave up and threw the product away and ordered a new supply of "Artscape" again. It arrived in a few days and worked perfectly as in the first installation. I couldn't be happier and highly recommended this manufacture for your window tinting jobs. Just a note: The second shipment did not include the squeegee as in the first shipment so if you order this product make sure Amazon ships the squeegee with it and if not have one handy. Its a must to do the job correctly!!!

The pic included is of Rice Paper design alternating with Clematis pattern. We have been most pleased with our Art Scape products, and far prefer this brand to others we have tried for quality, ease of use and meeting expectations. The key to application is to thoroughly read & follow the enclosed directions. They also have an excellent customer service for questions. This is our 3rd purchase, and I’m exceedingly pleased.As to privacy- Rice Paper is one of the most private colorless Art Scape options. The other being Frosted Glass. I would personally rate it 4 out of 5 stars on privacy scale. I define this by judging that one can see shadows or outline, but we could not clearly see inside standing about 6” from the window (standing outside looking in). This product also easily removes without scarring or imprinting window. And Amazon prices were $7-10 cheaper than stores we found in our area.This product is a win/win for meeting our needs.

No one can see in (privacy, but natural light pours in) or can see out. I chose this film mainly for the privacy it provides. I don't want the residents of my "close-knit" apartments to see me in my bedroom, but I do enjoy lots of natural light (although I can't get out of bed to open the window curtain). So this rice paper film perfectly solves the problem! I'm bedridden and I must use a urinal (in my bed) as a result of having a debilitating and degenerative neuro-muscular disorder (supposedly supported by MDA), which involves the progressive loss of coordination and muscle strength leading to motor incapacitation and inevitable confinement to a wheelchair. In my experience, MDA is a JOKE! I have learned that MDA attempts to make everyone believe that they are out to help those with similar conditions to mine, but instead, exploit us for their own selfish monetary gain! During my lifetime of 45 years, suffering with this horrible disease/disorder, realistically, MDA hasn't done anything -- not even a simple treatment!Installation of the film is no problem -- just make sure you carefully measure & cut the film -- it's too expensive to mess up.

Used this on the glass inserts in cabinet doors, was easy to install and looks great. Adds a nice touch while still hiding what is in the cabinets.

We put this on our bathroom window so people can't see into our bathroom. We don't want to put up curtains, because we still wanted daylight to come in for our humidity-loving bromeliads and orchids that we have in our bathroom. This is actually great for the plants because it filters the direct sunlight that was otherwise burning them, and they are now thriving in this softer light. The rice paper film has now been up there for months and looks as great as the day we put it on. Very easy to apply and looks professional. I just wish they gave you more of it for the price. I was surprised at how little of the material I received when the package arrived. When you have the lights on in the bathroom at night, you can see that there's a person in the bathroom from the outside, but you can't see any details so that's good. During the day, looking into the bathroom window you can't see a damn thing. I'm happy with this purchase, I would buy more of it!

I purchased this 3 years ago when we moved into our home. Then this year I had to replace it when it was damaged and removed by window professionals. I really love the look of the rice paper in the windows. It's a very subtle pattern. I do notice a difference in this new roll versus the one I purchased 3 years ago. This new film is definitely thicker and doesn't let as much light in. That is the only downside I see to this. I love that you don't need any special tools or adhesives to attach the film, just a simple squeegee and water. Hopefully I won't have to order another one, but if I do, I'll reorder this one. Definitely recommend! And it was cheaper here on Amazon than it was in my local hardware store!
