made tuning easy
I used this on a rear of cab install on a 2022 freightliner cascadia day cab. with a 4ft firestick. Mainly I wanted it to absorb the day to day punishment it gets from driving under low trees. I did not use the provided location because it sucks. stock location gets too much reflection from the cab and trailer. I drilled the fairing mounting bracket and directly attached the mount than used the spring with the antenna with the firestick tune tip screwed all the way in. My swr is 1.1-1.2 according to my radio meter. I'm running 450watts and run 550 mile routes with it 3 days a week and talk with a long time fellow driver with it for hours on end. works great...and it's very durable....

As advertised
Well made, decent materials

It's a medium duty spring
This will not hold a 4ft Firestick off the windshield at even 40mph. Nothing like the quality of the 60's and 70's, but it's not real spring steel either. Rusted within a month. Great for variable SWR while driving.Only good bonus is it keeps the tree limbs from breaking the antenna.

I would not recommend for a 102" whip
Great product, just not really stiff enough for a 102" whip.

More like medium duty
Product not as described, this is definitely not heavy duty, I put my 3 ft CB antenna on this spring and it bends back going down the road. It's no better than the medium duty I had before.

Perfect
The spring seems to be a little on the soft side compared to two other springs that a friend of mine has but for me this spring is perfect. I have a 4 foot fiberglass antenna hooked to it at the rear of my truck. It does not swing or wobble excessively. And when it does swing it calms down really quick while I am driving.Warning for jeep TJ owners: A friend of mine has the antenna mount that attaches behind the tail light and places the antenna next to the light. Due to the wide center of this spring it did not work for his TJ since the mount is too close to the side of the tail light. He had to but one of the straight springs. (Just something to consider. Hope it helps)

The Best Antenna Spring I Know Of
I have used this spring on a roof-mounted ball mount with a 102" CB whip antenna on top of my car. The overall height of the antenna is taller than a 13'6" ( Full-Size ) tractor-trailer, and has slammed into many bridges, with only a minor, almost unnoticable bend in the top of the antenna resulting from that abuse, with absolutely no downgrade in performance. If I need to go into a parking garage, I simply bend the antenna down, and hook it to a clip I placed on my trunk lid.The combination of this spring with a 102" CB whip antenna is virtually indistructable.
