A very good friend of mine had this watch and I asked him about it, and he told me all about it and how much he loved it. He is a techie and nerd just like me. We engineers and Ham radio operators always want the best gadgets and a good watch is one of them. Never need to set or change the time, easy to read, charges by sunlight, not a bad thing I can say! Everytime I now use and look at this watch, I say to myself and others.... I LOVE this watch! I like the total all black because the chrome trim one takes away from the display and it somewhat a distraction, the ALL black face watch as shown here is the one my friend had and the same one I got and I am very very happy with it. It also STAYS on your arm and does not slide around or move upside down on your arm. I love that and the plastic band is very comfy! So glad I found this watch. I now tell all my techie, nerd, engineer friends about this watch when I see them, Amazon had the best price too than any local store!

Great watch. It’s held up over the past year, looks as new as the day we got it. Lots of cool features and for the price, this was a steal.

Was skeptical on spending more than $20 on a watch. I've always used cheap ones because they would get beat up when working. I finally decided to get something built to last. I looked at local stores like academy and the Mall. They had this watch for $130!!! I decided to check amazon and sure enough it was reasonably priced. The stores would not do price matching. I chose this watch due to the features it had:-Solar powered (never needs a battery)-Atomic time kept (exact time)-Digital (digital duh)-Black. (Dark chrome and flat black)I really liked this design, it's not extra large or huge like other G-Shock watches, This watch is a decent size. What I noticed right away was the clarity of the LCD display. It's clear compared to the other watches I've owned. It was easy to follow the instructions to change the watch settings. The neat feature is when you tilt you arm 40 degrees from being parallel to the ground, the indigo light automatically turns on. So far I've had it for a few days and seems to work great. This watch seems well built and meant to last. I would recommend this watch to anyone looking for a nice affordable G-shock that has neat features.***update***I’ve had this watch for 4 years and it’s still working great! It’s been through a lot or hard labor and outside elements. The band is still intact, buttons still work. Everything still works. This was a great deal! Awesome watch!

I've had this watch going on 2 yrs. When I got it, the battery was low and the clock was not set for my time zone. At first I was worried because I couldn't get it to atomic set. Was dead of winter in CT. After 9 days, it suddenly set itself in the middle of the night. I kept it in the sun as much as possible for the gray New England winter. Within 2 weeks it was fully charged and on correct time. It's waterproof features are awesome. It's tough, and has been banged up several times. Very slight damage to the face from work. I work on the railroad in all elements, and never not dirty. I'm completely satisfied with this watch. It's still on full charge and has never gone down so far. I set the atomic clock to program it once a week or so, just to keep as accurate as necessary. There are times that it doesn't set itself. That's atmospheric. It's definitely worth the money for me. At first I also felt it was a bit small. And it is. It's not a huge face, but it's just right for me. The resin band is tough but comfortable. This is the BEST watch I've ever had. In forms of toughness, capabilities, charge hold, accuracy, size, band.... This watch has been in the toughest situations.

I had a previous edition of this watch for twelve years and bought this one to replace it when the solar battery finally began to die. It is a nice compromise between the bulkier G-Shocks (I own several of these) and the smaller profile 5600 series. The atomic time synched works very well on mine; I wear it to bed and it syncs overnight. It also syncs when in the watch case. I live in SW FL and summer in the Boston area. And it received the signal most nights. It is extremely accurate without the syncing and, if you need it, there is a two dollar app you can get for use in tough reception locales. Mine arrived fully charged and has never dropped below high. While not a fashion statement, this model give you everything the best G Shocks have and at an extremely affordable price. The band is vey high quality and comfortable. The little round dials are impossible to read but seldom needed. Stop watch, timer, world clock—these are all intuitive for the seasoned G-Shock owner, but you can always download the manual from the G-Shock site and toss the hard to read add booklet. Even though I own ten other G-Shocks, I keep coming back to this old favorite for daily (and nightly) use. The backlight is very bright and the automatic illumination feature is handy when waking up at night for those trips to the bathroom. There are several versions of this model, and they all look great. Get one and you’ll be glad no matter how many fancier watches you own.
