Great quality, worth the price
Being a newcomer to Copic markers, I wasn't entirely sure what to expect. Many artists I admire use Copics for coloring their drawings, so I decided to give them a shot. Needless to say, they fulfilled and even surpassed my expectations! Copic markers are often criticized for their high price tags, retailing from around five to eight USD, but upon receiving them, I understood why they retail at this price. They are incredibly high-quality markers, and some of the best for blending. Since Copics are alcohol-based, you are able to use them to layer your coloring more without worrying about tearing the paper. Personally, I much prefer the look of alcohol-based markers over other markers such as dye or water-based markers. The colors appear vibrant and beautiful on the page and compliment any drawing wonderfully. Copics, when used properly, should last you a fairly long time. Once the ink has run out, Copic offers replacement ink refillers which is a great alternative to being forced to buy many new markers. I have not yet had to refill my markers so I can't say how well this works from personal experience, but I've heard from others that refilling Copics is an easy and rewarding process. There are a few things beginners like me should be wary of when using Copics, however. As with any other marker, there is always the possibility of smudging your lineart if you're like me and tend to ink a sketch before coloring it. This can also unfortunately apply to pencil eraser smudges; I have often had eraser smudges appear much more visibly on my coloring with them being near-impossible to remove. A great way to avoid this is photocopying a high-quality scan your lineart and instead coloring the scan to avoid the risk of messing up the original. If you're a beginner to using Copics, the skin tone pack is a great place to start your collection. If you tend to draw characters or portraits, skin tones will definitely be a necessity. This is where I started my Copic collection, and the high quality of the skin tone pack impressed me enough to add many more Copics to my collection since. In conclusion, if you have interest in finding a good marker, these are a great, albeit pricey choice. If you're on-the-fence about purchasing these markers, you might find it a better option to purchase one color individually to make sure you enjoy them before wasting your money on a product you don't enjoy. Many stores such as Micheal's allow you to test the marker on a piece of scrap paper before buying it. If you do feel confident about buying these markers, however, I say go for it! Their high quality and long-lasting color is well worth the price.

Useful for More than Skin
Copic markers are amazing. They blend so much better, have better tips, have replaceable tips, and are refillable. The Sketch markers are better than the other three lines because they store more ink than the Ciao, have the brush tip the Classics don't, have an oval shape that cuts down on hand cramps, and have the color code on the lids (you would not believe how useful this is). If you're considering Sketch or Ciao, I highly recommend Sketch. This skin tone set is very good to have. Having varied tones in your images makes it more interesting and inclusive. If you draw in a more realistic manner, you'll need the contrast that you can get from this kit. I also use the makers from this set in pretty much any drawing where I need brown shades.I get a whole lot of use out of this and I know you will too!

The Perfect Blend
A review from my 17yr old daughter, after all, she's the one who uses them:I've owned several sets of Prismacolor markers, but when I got a bunch of Amazon giftcards for Christmas, I decided it was time to up my game.I bought this set because Copic has such a good reputation, and because a set of skin tones is a really good way to start out a collection. All of these work very well together, shade just right, etc. etc, with the only exception being that the second-darkest and darkest colors do not actually work to shade each other, and I had to go buy another marker to work with those, but it wasn't a big deal.As per expected, these Copics work perfectly, although best on actual Copic-brand paper (figures), which is another 11 dollars.I'd recommend these to any serious or semi-serious traditional comic artist. My only problem is my problem with all Copic products - they're so damn expensive! Worth it, though, if you can afford them.

Pretty good!
These markers are awesome, but not really worth the price since you do have to buy refills and they run out of ink quickly. These arnt that great of skin tones, ive found better ones with pro makers thats half the price. But over all they do color really well. Easy to blend! They work perfect with pro markers and prisma. Wouldnt buy them again since i could buy cheaper makers that work EXACTLY the same. It is a good starter kit though.Pros-brush tip is good for hair details.-brush tip helps a lot with tight areas and helps blend-they come with refills-durable-work well with other markerscons-expensive (there are cheap alt. that work the same)-doesn't hold much ink
