Accurate and Reliable Performance!
The Garmin Speed Sensor 2 and Cadence Sensor have taken my cycling experience to the next level. Both sensors are incredibly easy to install and sync seamlessly with my Garmin device. The speed sensor gives me accurate, real-time speed data, while the cadence sensor helps me track my pedaling rate, ensuring I stay within my target zones for optimal performance.I love how both sensors are compact and lightweight, so they don’t add bulk to my bike. They also work flawlessly, providing consistent readings even on longer rides. Whether I’m training for a race or just going for a leisurely ride, these sensors are incredibly helpful for tracking my progress and improving my cycling efficiency. If you’re looking to get more precise data during your rides and improve your performance, I highly recommend the Garmin Speed Sensor 2 and Cadence Sensor.

inexpensive way to send cycling speed and cadence to my Garmin Forerunner watch (and Garmin Connect)
I bought these to replace/upgrade my Cateye Double Wireless bike computer that has been giving me problems. I already have a Garmin Forerunner 245 watch that I use for running, and these speed and cadence sensors are a great complement to that watch. They install easily, pair quickly with the watch, and transmit speed and cadence to watch accurately and reliably. From there I can easily upload to Garmin Connect.Having to look at my watch to check speed or cadence is less convenient than having a screen on the bike stem like I did with the Cateye. But I only check those occasionally anyway, and it was easy to configure that watch data screens to show me only the data I want, and in large font. Later I might buy a Garmin bike computer like the Edge 530 or 830 so I'll have that info right in front of me along with the maps and other features of those devices. It seems that most of the negative reviews are from people who didn't understand that these sensors will only pair with some devices and apps. If you don't have a compatible device or app then you should look elsewhere.

Using on exercise bike
Got these to be able to track distance and cadence on a generic exercise bike and they work great. It took some time to get the speed sensor installed but I’m glad I fought with it.Pro: tracks cadence and matches the cadence sensor on the exercise bike. Works with peloton app*. My fénix 5 is completely compatible and tracks my speed, distance and cadence every workout.Con: setup if the speed sensor on the flywheel required some extra thought because of how the sensor was designed. Ended up not using any of the rubber bands to attach it. The peloton app loses the cadence sensor mid workout some times. The speed sensor requires a good deal of troubleshooting to match the distance sensor of the flywheel on the exercise bike.*the peloton app is compatible, but it appears as though the app itself is losing the cadence sensor mid workout sometimes. I believe this is an app issue of peloton and not the cadence sensor since my connect app doesn’t show any drop on cadence.Bottom line. I would buy another set for my regular bike.

First sensor bundle received was faulty. The second is fantastic!
I ordered this Garmin Speed Sensor 2 and Cadence Sensor 2 bundle to use with an indoor spin bike we just purchased. While I knew this use was unconventional and would never be 100% accurate, I had seen videos proving that it works and could be gotten quite close. I wanted to give it a try, as it meant my data would be uploaded from my rides to Garmin Connect automatically. Any adjustments to the data could then be done manually when needed.Unfortunately, the speed sensor in the first bundle I received was faulty. It was too difficult to get it to turn on and connect, much less to send data to my Venu 2s. This proved to be the case even after replacing the battery. I ordered a replacement yesterday and it arrived midday today. This one works great! I'll be sending the one I originally received back today as a defective unit.To use this sensor bundle with an indoor spin bike, you mount the cadence sensor to the pedal stem as usual. For the speed sensor, you need to attach it to a flat or slightly concave wheel surface while ensuring proper clearance. To do this, I removed the rubber casing, then attached heavy-duty velcro to both the back of the sensor and the wheel. The bike we have, a DMason Speed Bike, has plenty of clearance on the left side of the wheel, so that was not an issue.Once the sensors were installed, I connected them both to my Venu 2s and began to adjust the wheel size on my watch for the speed sensor until the speed matched that shown on my bike's computer display. While this works quite well, it won't take any manual tension changes into account, such as when you're simulating an uphill/downhill ride. That said, while our bike's computer has speed, distance, and duration, it does not collect data for grade anyway, since the tension control on our bike is manual. I just note tension and ride difficulty in the activity afterward. The big advantage of this setup is having data from each ride match what's displayed on the bike's computer and upload to Garmin Connect automatically. Even if the data is not as complete as you'd have on an outdoor ride, it's complete enough to allow you to monitor your progress from ride to ride. And, that is good enough for me.

Easy to Install
The speed and cadence sensors were easy to install and work great with the garmin 540. They fit securely on my trek domane. I will add them to my other bikes.
