Savinelli Miele Honey Pipe 628 Tobacco Pipe

This was a hand picked birthday gift for my husband, he spent literally weeks looking for a particular "brandy bent" smoking pipe, and his choices were narrowed to two manufacturers (Peterson and Savinelli). Savinelli had two out of three of his final choices. He loves this pipe. The colors of the briar wood are nearly identical to the stock advertising pictures. And while I thought the colors were a bit bright for a pipe, they actually stand out as a thing of beauty rather than the eyesore I thought they would be. He says it smokes cool and was worth every penny. The stem and shank are perfectly fitted together. The yellow and black box the pipe comes in is very beautiful as well, and while most of his pipe boxes are recycled for small gifts or used as storage for odds and ends on his work bench, this one was kept and put on display with his pipe collection. He is extremely happy with this pipe.

The Miele 628 is an exquisite pipe. Larger bowl for longer smokes, bent stem but easy to clean with regular pipe cleaner fantastic draw, not too heavy, rests in the mouth well. There’s a reason it costs more. Savinelli warrants their pipes and stands by them. I was impressed. I’m generally an anti-corporate person but Savinelli deserves respect and props. You can get this pipe cheaper at a online pipe company. like about $109.00. some sites have free shipping on $100 purchases. Also, you can get different models with larger bowls in the Honey pipe style. Miele. The large end of the honey stick does not fit in the bowl (or ball technically) But the small end does work. Another tip... Just buy a throw away bic lighter... Butane is the way to go.. I have tried several refillable butane lighters and they don't refill worth a darn. I you want the nicotine don't use a filter. This pipe works with balsa wood filters (which will filter out most of the nicotine. Uses 6mm filters as well.
