Dog Gone Smart I'm Gismo- Handle with Poop Bag Dispenser in Electric Blue

I just left a bad review on another leash and this one fixed all my problems. It’s got a great flashlight that actually lets me see at night and it’s rechargeable. It also has a bag dispenser for standard rolls AND it tears the bag for you, which is annoying to try to do while holding your dog at night. Just got it yesterday, so can’t speak to the durability, but I’m so happy with it that I had to give feedback. Buy this one! Oh! You will need a standard leash but it’s worth it

I bought this after we returned from our most recent vacation. We realized that our dogs do better with an evening walk as well as a morning walk. (They’re chihuahuas, so we thought we could get away with just having them in the yard, but they’re older now--thirteen--and we have to pay attention to what they need).When on vacation, we needed to walk the dogs at night with a flashlight. We have a headlamp which worked pretty well. Also one of those little flashlights works pretty well.Note that I saw this product several years ago and thought, why would I need that? You have to buy all the parts you want.Let me take that back now. It’s handy to have everything in one place. Not go looking for all the separate parts when you’re still basically asleep!One other reviewer said she zip-tied a house key to her gismo, and that seems brilliant to me. When we have an extra house key, I’ll definitely try that. Lately I’ve been clipping my house key to the carabiner and that seems to work well.So I bought the flashlight attachment. It doesn’t seem very bright, but it’s summer now and I’m walking the dogs while the sun is still out. If it’s not working in December, I’ll notice it. (side note: it charges on usb, and the charge does hold for a long time.)My partner feels better about me walking the dogs in the evening. With the flashlight (and the little light up part in the handle) I’ll be visible to motorists when it’s dark.I saw several reviews where folks who complained about the bag dispenser shredding the bags. Mind you, the “free” blue bags they give you with these things are always super cheap and shred if you look at them wrong. I put my regular bags in the dispenser (yes it takes a bit of practice) and they work great! They tear off cleanly (which is totally a new experience for me, since usually it takes two hands to tear off a bag), the little hook for holding a loaded bag works fine.Before using this, we had used bag dispensers attached to their leashes. This is way better than that!The gismo itself is just the handle with a carabiner attached. If I were walking two large dogs, I would get the double carabiner, but for our small dogs, it works great with the single. No tangling. It’s much, much easier to pull the dogs along when they find a tasty bit out on our walk.Some folks say the handle is too big for their little hands. I have large hands and I think it works great. It says it’s the size of a women’s tennis racket, so should fit a bunch of folks, even with smaller hands.I like it because it’s the same shape as the grip of my walking poles. Hey, maybe there should be a combination dog-walking device/walking pole? Nah, too niche.I don’t think it’s at all heavy (too heavy for your hands? Maybe if you’re also looking at your phone?!?) Note that when I walk my dogs, I don’t carry my phone and I don’t try to do anything else. It’s just me and my dogs, walking.

It’s another plastic made device that won’t last very long with all of its features.I dropped mine once and the end cap fell off and continues to do so. I don’t need the end cap, so it doesn’t look so great after 2 months of using it. But, it still holds both leashes and swivels. So I’ll keep using it 😂

My dog used to jerk my arm and shoulder whenever he'd lunge at another animal. This handle seems to cushion it somewhat so there's less stress on my arm. I find the poop bag dispenser convenient, especially the hook where I can hang a used bag and free my other hand. This handle should be convenient when I have to wear gloves since I no longer have to squeeze my hand through the loop on my leash.Update (9/7/17): I originally gave this product 5 stars. I have reduced the rating to 2 stars based upon a critical flaw in the design of the leash carabiner screw, which causes the leash carabiner to detach from the grip. My 18-pound dog got loose on a busy street and I was very fortunate he did not get hit by a car! I tried tightening the screw as much as possible using pliers and it happened again. I then went to the hardware store and purchased Loctite Threadlocker (blue), let it set for over 48 hours and guess what? It happened again. I really wanted this product to work but this is strike three.Update (10/11/17): I contacted the manufacturer and they shipped a replacement carabiner within two days. I've been using it for a week now without issue. I tried twisting the carabiner screw off (without success) just to test it. I am giving them 5 stars again for addressing my issue immediately. Now that it is functioning properly, I can walk my dog in comfort and peace of mind. Highly recommended.

This is a great handle and it has helped tremendously with my tennis elbow. I have a 50lbs Husky and she has stressed my arm until now… I’ve only had it for a few weeks and so far so good.There was a previous review that the customer said the bags kept tearing when pulling them from the dispenser. This is true; I noticed that my regular sized bags from PetSmart were a bit bigger than the ones that came with the gismo. Upon comparing spools I observed the one that came with the gismo was a bit shorter. I would recommend the manufacturer point customers in the right direction so we can purchase bags that fit properly.Over all good product so far, I’ll use my regular bag dispenser for now and will continue using the gismo and see how things go.

This is very comfortable, but the bag attachment fell off and the light I bought for it fell off and broke as well.

I have been using it for a year now and I love it. My 50lb dog lunges at school buses and pulls hard but the handle gives me a very comfortable and secure grip. I have the flash light and it works great, too. I like that it is rechargeable and I don’t have to charge it very often. I saw many people complaining about poop bags shredding but I never had that problem. I think if you are careful when you put the bag in so that the top of the roll does not get squished by the cap, you wouldn’t have a problem. Another trick is to pull the first one out most of the way when you load the new role if the roll is a little bit thicker. Most of all, having a clip to hold a “loaded” bag is so convenient. I feel that I got more than what I pairs for already. I will not hesitate to buy it again. I can’t imagine walking my dog without it. People in our neighborhood ask me about it all the time.

È un buon prodotto ma secondo me è adatto per cani molto disciplinati il guinzaglio non può essere tenuto lungo. Non adatto per mani piccole. Insomma un po' ingombrante e pesante però per chi ha due cani aiuta.Sconsigliato a chi possiede un solo cane
