This is an elegant watch for those who appreciate purity of style. The design of this watch makes the strap and the case seem to almost blend into each other. This watch provides an active, sporty look in which all unnecessary detail has been pared away and where the sharp, narrow lines have a recurrent place in the overall design idiom. Obaku is an exclusive collection of watches with a focus on simple, serene design. This collection is backed by a philosophy of blending the two different traditions of simplicity found in the Nordic and Asian cultures. Obaku Harmony has inherited the best from both these cultures and has blended the simplicity found in both. One of the driving forces behind the Obaku collection of watches is Christian Mikkelsen. He is known as one of the best in this business. His extensive experience means that hes in a position to have faith in his own ideas. "I really trust my own intuition about a product, and always keep the person for whom the watch is designed in mind," he says. A watch also tells a story "Your watch says something about who you are as a person. It also depicts the passing of time, and announces that you are engaged in the process of living your life."

Smart and stylish
Plus points: Looks smart and stylish Not bulky (I have small wrists) clear dial easy to readMinus points: No lightI have not owned this watch for long enough to comment on durability or how water proof it is, but so far I am really pleased with it.The computer image of this watch is pretty accurate, but it is worth searching for photos of Obaku watches before buying one as some are not such a close match.

Stylish Timepiece, but strap failed after 30 months. "Standard" replacement straps unsuitable.
UPDATED Aug 2013The strap is poor quality. It is thin, and cracks at the hole the buckle penetrates. However, because of the 'shoulders' where the pin is, you have to source a replacement from the manufacturer. They have you by the short-and-curlies, and charge an exorbitant price. A 'normal' replacement strap would fit, but the pins are only 12mm - which is a 'womans' size strap.THIS COMMENT APPLIES TO OTHER OBAKU WATCHES HAVING SIMILAR 'Unique' STRAPS.--------------------Original comment:-The Watch is aesthetically very pleasing.Cream-coloured (which is slightly darker than it appears in the photo) face, with dark-brown leather strap. The 'Titan' glass is slightly convex. The manufacturer claims "Probably the strongest glass ever used for watches. Titan Glass is at least 10 times more crack resistant than any other typical watch glass "The cynic in me wonders why they used the words "crack resistant"; watch glass is usually susceptible to scratching, not cracking. Methinks it may not be so resistant to its greatest risk?Only 4 stars because although wearers can determine the day-of-the-week because the hand will be in one of only 7 positions; I defy all but the eagle-eyed to actually read the date. The numbers are impossibly small.
