Great antenna for GMRS mobile radio.
I bought this to install on my Jeep. I wanted something low profile when off roading so that it wouldn't catch all the trees limbs and low hanging branches. Typically when you go with a shirt antenna you loose some range but I did not loose as much range as I expected with this antenna. Works great. Easy to install. Great signal strength for its size. Would definitely recommend this antenna.

Perfect for hams on a budget
I mounted this to the top of my work truck and have been impressed with the reception on my HT. I haven't tried to see how far I can transmit, but I've been able to pick up a local repeater over 50 miles away.

Great for using with handheld ham.
Not the easiest thing to route through the engine firewall, but decent quality materials. Haven’t had any issues using with my ham radio.

The media could not be loaded. I may come back later after this two meter antenna is on the car and working with the radio. The thing came Without Instructions if any kind. Before it goes on the car there is a certain amount of prep that happens. The mount, as hopefully you will see in the pics the mount is pretty simple. But when the fancy flat nut is on the screw shaft to the outside of the ugly standard nut, and a reasonable person would think that’s the order that the finished mount would be. Nope. I had to take the whole thing apart to get the nut and shaft in there. Because the bolt in the hinge blocked it. No Instructions. Now, I made my living for a bunch of years installing CB antennas on cars, and never did I run in to such a non intuitive setup. I can only imagine what someone who had never done one would have done. Probably installed it upside down and had a gap between the actual antenna and the mount. See my amateurish vid for clarification.Well. I have had the antenna for awhile, and would give it ZERO stars if I could. I only made one contact in three months with it, and that was terrible. Last week I went to my jjsm store and got it tested. It worked fine on 70cm but didn’t work at all on 2 meters.I bought it as a 2 meter antenna and feel cheated. I will never buy any from.these people again.I got an antenna from the local boys and my radio is blowing up with contacts.

Don't use this on anything above 20 Watts
The inside is not an actual coiled ant. This will cause some higher wattage radios to overheat. I can not recommend that anyone use this above 20Watts as you will risk burning up your radio. It may be ok for lower Watt radios but save some and get the better ones from midland.
