Great 2 Meter Rig!
I've had this radio for a while now, and it has held up nicely over the past year with no problems. It's easy to install and looks great in my pickup truck. It has performed very well with great range and reception. Anyone who is familiar with these radios shouldn't have any problems setting it up for your local repeaters. I really enjoy the fact that it features programmable mic hot keys so you can access different functions with a single button press without having to reach down to mess with the radio itself. I get good reports on the audio quality. It's a great budget radio.

Best inexpensive mobile Ham/GMRS radio!!
This Anytone radio is the bomb! :) The handset mic makes this radio stand out from the rest of the inexpensive mobile radios out there. Anytone's sister brand TYT has same radio but handset mic is nowhere as nice and functional. Handset mic has current band indicator, A/B band switch, 4 programmable quick buttons, Up/Down buttons for channel/volume and a small handset speaker that works for either band. Indicator "A/B" LED's on handset light up when receiving on either band and light up red when transmitting on either band. Really nice handset! Single rotating knob can be programmed to be a default volume knob or the default channel switch knob. Power output on high power is plenty to access all my favorite repeaters. Simplex range is also very comparable to my 50 watt mobile!! I bought my 2nd of these radios less than a week after buying my first one. I love listening to my Public Safety frequencies to monitor Police/Fire/EMS and this radio covers those frequencies as well! If you are in the market for a $125 HAM/GMRS mobile radio, this is the one!!

Anytone 778 UV II
Only giving it four stars because it gets fairly hot on transmit using mid power level. I think after I learn all the kinks of the software I am going to really like it. I am getting good audio reports on it and the recurve seems to be good. As I learn more I will probably upgrade this review.Additional: Since using this for a couple of weeks a couple of things I have found, when using this on the mid power range it does get rather warm and the unit does not have a fan . This would be a very nice addition and the up/down buttons on the mic are directly across from the PTT and if you don not keep them locked or ar very careful about the placement of the mic in your hand you will accidentally depress one of them and it will cut off your modulation. The up/down buttons would be better place on top of the mic. As I learn more I will add to this. The manual is not very well written and it takes a lot of guesswork work to figure it out. One example is when you change from Memory to VFO you have to press the channel select knob to confirm your choice and you have to do the same thing when going back to memory from vfo. There is also no clear explanation if any at all of how to program this unit form the keypad. I also like to listen to some of my local traffic like fire and ems and this unit would not program a frequency such as 155.115 it would always revert to 155,110 . This had me really stumped since it programmed repeaters in the ham band like 147.165 just fine then I found out quite by accident the step was set wrong for this. This unit is programmable from either Chirp or Anytone software. If you use Chirp you can use either Mac or Windows however Anytone will only work with Windows. As I find out mare I will share.

Compact 2 meter 440 mobile 25 watt radio that works great.
the function buttons allow customization and quick access to features from changing power to VOX operation. Subaudible tone settings are easy and quick. Using Chirp software on my Mac Studio worked seamlessly and smooth. Upload and Download speed not fast but it’s ok. The color display is bright and has all relevant info you need. Audio quality is very good for the small speaker, and people I spoke with seem to hear my audio clearly and pleasant. Microphone has lock button to keep radio on the mode/channel you want. When you set 20-30 channels with repeaters, Tone squelch etc,.. you can quickl go to the frequency of choice using mic buttons .Only thing is the beep and audio is really hot. The volume is a function key touch and then you twist the function knob to dial audio/squelch etc… up and down as you desire, All in all a GREAT little radio going in my Jeep. This one fits the bill at $120 ease of programming. I will install this week and let. You know how it goes. Very happy with this product with a solid build and straightforward menu this is a keeper. de:K3GO.

Great entry ham radio.
This is the 3rd radio I received. I bought one a few years back and been using it until I have it away to a friend who finally got his ham license. Well forward a few years I was needing another radio for my daily driver. Ordered this radio last week on 02/10/2024 and received it on the same day. Upon receive, I powered it up with a 12v 20Ah LIPO battery and the radio turned on. Was able to program the radio and upload all my frequency into the radio. This is the second version of the radio where if you want change the Band Plan, you have to do it thru the factory CPS. So soon after everything was loaded up. Once I plugged the mic back in and attempt to push the PTT button. The radio suddenly turned off on itself. I thought it was maybe the battery I was using, I then switched to another battery with the same result. I then left the radio on for a few minutes and it then turned itself off again. I thought it was maybe the code plug, I reset the radio and wiped the memory and the radio still does it. But now when radio turned itself off, you cannot turn it back on until you unplug the radio from the power source.Request a replacement from Amazon after I described what the radio is exactly doing. Received the replacement today 02/12/2024 and fired her up. Loaded the frequency and everything works. It's a great entry mobile ham radio with the support of CHIRP.
