The Art of Stillness: Adventures in Going Nowhere

Brilliantly written and simple
I was unsure if I needed to order this book at all since I had already seen the TED talk. But the book was well worth it. The message of the book is exactly what I needed at this point. Brilliantly written and simple. This is a book worth keeping around.

Stillness marketed well!
The beauty of stillness as the base for all movement comes across very clearly in this book. The way it has effected him, his struggles but the love for holding that centre of stillness is conveyed well. This is a book I will keep and come back to. So why less two stars? I feel he tried to market the art of stillness using the umpteen examples of people he knew. There seemed a trifle forced effort into it. Less that the book might have been 20 pages lesser and...more potent!

Though I love pico Iyer
Though I love pico Iyer, art of stillness, is not his best. While the message of the book is valid and crucial, the book has not been written as well as you've come to expect from this fine author. His talk on TED on the same, much better.
