Sturdy Equipment, Easy Assembly, Works Great
Have a small pond (1/2 acre+) that has not been cleaned in a number of years and is not looking healthy with surface floating algae, live and dead cattails, and reed grass. The bottom of the pond has a significant layer of algae. Bought the Weed Rake and the WeedRazer Express to address the cleanup.Product Description: The Weed Rake is lightweight, easy to assemble, comes with attached 25' of floating poly rope and with the float attachments, for this Woman, is easy to cast. I tied a bowline loop at the end of the line to step on so as not to launch the whole works into the pond. The rake tines are very sharp and do a very good job of cutting aquatic vegetation*. I like the ability to fold the front of the rake for easier storage.Performance-Surface Raking: My initial project objective was to remove the floating surface algae. I attached the floats with the provided Velcro straps, following the instructions in the Product Manual. With about 2-dozen casts, I was able to make fairly rapid progress pulling the floating algae masses to shore. Once I pulled the mass on land, the rake tines were fairly easy to clean by shaking the rake forward and back a few times and it was ready for another toss.I then concentrated my efforts on the algae floating in the vegetation near the edges of the pond, and this is where to performance changed. After about half-a-dozen casts and pulling the rake back through the vegetation consisting of cattails and reed grass, one of the Velcro straps holding a float, broke and is lost somewhere in the pond.My examination of the other three straps shows significant wear. I believe this was caused by trying to rake the floating algae from the surface vegetation and the friction caused by raking the vegetation over the sharpened tines caused the wear and subsequent failure of the strap.Performance-Sub-Surface Raking: As seen in the company videos, the rake does a very good job of cutting some of the vegetation, i.e. in this case, cattails. *However, the Weed Rake does not work very well on tall green reed grass. To the contrary, it does rake out the "dead" reed grass with relative ease. To address the bottom algae, after each cast I allowed the rake to sink and made short firm pulls on the rope. The rake cut through the algae and formed rolls of the gunk once I pulled it into shallow water. This was a bit more difficult to remove from the tines, but flopping the rake over and shaking the rake worked to dislodge the worst of the mess. Repeated casts over the same area resulted in the rake coming back fairly clean and I take that as most of the algae removed. Results: After working the same area from opposite sides of the pond, I noticed the bottom of the area where I started is free of vegetation and the water clarity noticeably clearer. I can actually see the bottom, where I could not before I started this project. With the exception noted about the straps, I am very satisfied with the product and would recommend it to others.Support: I contacted the company asking if only the Velcro straps are available as replacements. Since the equipment is new, I see no sense in buying their complete Rake Hardware Kit, just for the straps. I am awaiting their response.

The rake does a poor job of removing top water debris.
Doesn’t do such a good job removing top water debris.

Easy enough to use and gets results
Our nearby lake was recently cleaned up and now has plant growth for the first time many years. However that has now made it a challenge to swim off our dock and keep our boat lift area free of weeds. This tool worked very well to remove the weeds. Nothing real complicated about it. We just toss the rake out of the water and drag it back with the rope. The rake seems sturdy and should last a long time.

No surprises
Works as expected. I like the toss and return feature. It seems pretty expensive compared to others at the farm stores.

Great rake. Very effective!
The rake worked very well to remove several kinds of weeds along our lakeshore. It worked effectively with only the long handle as well as when thrown with the rope and floats. The tines are heavy duty enough to remove large roots. It's a good investment for keeping our lakeshore cleaned up. Recommend this rake.

Worked so much better than I expected
It is rare now days, but a real pleasure, to buy and try something that works better than expected. We had been trying to use a landscape rake to clear our pond of weeds within a few feet of the shore, but it was slow going. So, I thought I would try the Razer Rake. I expected to just use with the handle near shore like we had been, but after my first cast and retrieve, I was hooked. I ended up clearing not only the area near the shore but 25-30 feet out and I am sure I can get out further. What a difference it makes to have a well-designed tool for the job.

A little pricey but worth clearing out areas around docks for fishing/swimming
Had quite a few good reviews and recommended online. It seemed cheaply built but has held up for many weed gathering sessions. Not professional grade//going to be used for really heavy duty use. If you have a small pond it is useful for clearing an area near the dock to fish. I would prefer a simple hard rake for raking beach sand. I have doubts the floats are going to hold up over time/to UV so I would store inside. The velcro used to hold on the floats doesn't hold up long term but electrical tie downs can do the job. One can probably rig up a pool "noodle" to achieve the floating function. I like that it can do both submerged and surface weeds.
