Q: Why are The bars from Amazon so hard? The same pack from QVC is softer and chewy. I like to buy from here because it costs less.

I also have had this same problem. About 30 seconds at 1/2 power in a microwave seems to help a lot. As to *why* are the Amazon bars so hard, my best guess is that they're older and closer to their expiration date, but I don't have the data to prove it. Anyone else have any ideas?

From the USDA’s Agricultural Research Service. It turns out that the science that has been used to calculate the number of calories a food provides was developed over 100 years ago. The USDA has now improved this calorie counting method, revealing that tree nuts have significantly fewer calories than initially thought. For example, almonds actually account for 19% fewer calories, due to the way our bodies digest them. Product has not changed!
