Excellent little hub which works with laptops and our TV USB port (it might not with others)
I've had a number of these sort of bay/hubs over the years and this is an excellent little bay, delivered quickly and well packaged which also works connected to our TV USB port (it might not with others - test at your own risk).I have the model (there are a few) which has the wider spaced USB ports on the front which allows even fat kingston usb sticks (see other review) to be used in tandem and unit gives good transfer speeds depending on ports/drives used of course.Simple to set up - plug and play/go even with our TVIts very compact despite catering for 3.5 and 2.5 sata drives, AND USB sticks, and better looking (opinion) than my older red ones.** Clone feature is atrociously slow and limited and actually seems CONSIDERABLY slower and more basic than using this same hub connected to a PC and using a window freeware utility to clone with the 2 way sata overhead. I glued the button on my older drives to prevent accidental use.Just as hub - File transfer gives very reasonable speeds read and write (depending on USB ports)I think other reviews have dealt with much of the rest.

Recommended. LED's are REALLY dim though.
Impressed with the quality. Whilst plastic it does feel sturdy. I bought this initially to retrieve data from loads of old SATA drives I had stored away. It did the job fine, with decent enough speeds. I've now got it hooked up to a NAS for additional storage with two drives permanently in place. Does exactly what you would expect and the bonus of an SD card reader is nice, it will come in handy.Negatives - The LED's that signify power on and which drive is being accessed are REALLY REALLY dim. They are also on top of the unit, so you have to physically look over it to see them. Not ideal when sat on a desk, but it's a minor gripe.

For the price Excellent and great after service. Recommended.
Docking Station worked brilliantly for about 8 months before developing an intermittent fault with the power supply which meant that it stopped running my 10TB drive I use for backup. (It continued to manage 3TB drives and SSD's). I had a similar power supply of the same voltage left from previous tech which fitted the unit; and I was back in business! What about this for service? I made arrangements to return the Docking Station before I had diagnosed the faulty power supply. This was arranged with the usual Amazon efficiency. I thought I would try one last ditch test of swapping out the power supply. Happily, I identified the fault and a suitable workaround. I cancelled the return and notified the seller...So I have a perfectly working unit again, and they still offered me a 50% refund. What great customer service - I would buy from them again - made my day! I declined the refund as I thought they deserved the money just for making me smile! Thank you guys for your thoughtfulness.Accepting that I may have just had a duff power supply - otherwise I cannot fault the setup. Does exactly what it is supposed to. Straight-forward and efficient on my PC with Windows 10 setup. If you need to clone drives with or without your computer; or just run a couple of additional drives externally via USB3 - buy one of these - great value.

Delighted with this Docking Station for 2.5 and 3.5 Sata Drives, & does a great job at cloning too.
Really pleased with this HD caddy, for both 2.5 inch and 3.5 inch SATA drives, and with a bonus, that it will create a clone from one drive to the other. In my images, the large drive is an old Sata 3.5 inch Mechanical Hard drive, and the small drive is a SATA 2.5 inch SSD.I placed the drives in the correct place, this is VITAL to get the drives the right way round, otherwise you could end up copying an empty drive to a full drive. So make sure the source drive goes into HD1 and that the destination drive goes into HD2.During the cloning process, the first blue LED shows when 25% done, the second blue LED shows when 50% done, and the 3rd LED shows when 100% complete, then all 3 LEDs will be lit up.There is one problem, but not serious, it is not clear at all which section is for HD1 and which section is HD2, and this is why it would be quite easy to get the drives the wrong way round when cloning.Anyway, It did a perfect job in the end, very impressive, and of course, dont forget, it also reads 2.5 inch and 3.5 inch drives when connected to your laptop USB socket. There are also additional inputs for various USB devices, which also show up on your laptop / computer. I am Really delighted, and other than the lack of clarity as to which is HD1 and which is HD2, this is an absolute must. Thank you. Please see my images which show more.

Not enough power to to power an enterprise hard drive
It worked fine with my normal hard drives but when I bought a 12tb Seagate v7 enterprise drive it started misbehaving and was very slow. I was to discover that it did not draw enough power to operate such drives. They draw about 7w. Future-proof and get one that does.
