Just tried and it’s super yeast!
Great results with this yeast. I have used the other Saf and have always had good results but this is even better. If you need yeast this is the one to buy. Superior!

Wasn't sure at first, but turned out great
Before I purchased this yeast, I came across a reviewer's video where they were pounding the unopened package on a counter. They complained that it arrived hard as a rock, so I was hoping I didn't get one of those solid bricks.Turns out, when I received the package, it felt like a brick when I held it. But as I went on to discover, this is fine. It's due to the vacuum sealing. So, if you can squeeze your package, that's probably a bad sign. However, at that moment, I suspected the yeast might be bad, so I immediately opened it and tested it with a little water and sugar. I got a little bubbling activity but still wasn't convinced. After all, I ordered the product in the heat of August. So, as I was still unconvinced that the yeast was fully alive and thriving, I poured the contents into an airtight jar and placed it in the fridge to let all the yeasties chill and relax. The next day, I decided to put the yeast to a true test. I found a recipe for yeast dinner rolls. The recipe's first step was to mix yeast with warm water (105-110 degrees) and a little sugar. I allowed it to sit for 10 minutes, and boy, oh boy, did it come alive. And the dinner rolls turned out great. So, yeah, I give SAF Premium high marks. It's powerful and works as advertised.

Excellent results for nearly half the price.
I use roughly one jar (4 oz.) of Fleischman's yeast every month baking bread for my household and for friends. At nearly $7.00 a jar at the grocery store I was wondering if there might not be a less expensive alternative. It isn't that $7.00 is a lot of money but for 4 ounces of product it seemed to be a bit exorbitant, so I looked around our local grocery stores only to find that not only were there just two brands to choose from in our small town but some of the options were even more expensive, such as buying in packets. That's all well and good for those who bake bread for holidays or just occasionally but bread is a staple in our household.I found this product here at Amazon and was at first a bit reluctant to try any other brand besides that which I've used for years and years with success but I decided that taking a chance may pay off and just to sweeten the chance of a good outcome I bought the 'premium' version. I've used the product now, baking three loaves of whole wheat bread. I couldn't be more pleased with the results. The first rise took just over half the usual time and the second rise had my dough doubling at half the time I am accustomed to. The third and final rise took much less time than usual as well. I allow my bread to rise at least three times when I have the time because I think it develops the flavor of the ingredients, including the yeast, much more and the end product is more flavorful with a much better texture. The first thing I noticed was that the aroma was different than with my usual yeast, next I noticed that the crumb was finer and that the texture was chewier, which is one of the things I look for in homemade bread. I have to wonder if the particular strain of yeast is somehow different from my usual brand but that may be unlikely since, as far as I know, baking yeast is basically the same strain from brand to brand. If anyone has any insight into the subject I'd like to hear what he or she have to say. It seems to me, on the other hand, the strain may be different because of its place of manufacture, so who knows what the lineage of that particular brand may be. All I know at this point is that the previously mentioned characteristics of aroma etc are actually an improvement over what I'm accustomed to. I hope that these characteristics aren't just my imagination and will be carried through over time in all the bread I bake in the future.

AN INCREDIBLE PRODUCT THAT ARRIVES HARD BECAUSE IT IS SHIPPED IN A VACUUM SEALED PACKAGED !!
While it is apparent to me that people do not read the reviews, please don’t leave negative comments on a product due to it arriving in a vacuum sealed package ( or it being HARD AS MANY OF YOU HAVE STATED ) unless you open it and actually use the yeast to find that it doesn’t rise for one reason or another. If that happens the company will refund or replace this item.I began ordering my yeast from Amazon in 2020 as probably most of you did due to it not being available at grocery stores. I have bought the Red Star , the regular Saf Instant , the Fleischmann Instant yeast and this Saf Premium Instant High Powered yeast and every package arrived hard as a rock in a vacuum sealed package. Actually one package was not properly sealed.I never considered questioning the fact that it was hard. I merely opened the package, proofed with warm water and sugar to ensure it wasn’t dead , then continued on with placing half in a sealed pint jar, while placing the remaining half in my fridge until I was ready to use. This yeast rises very well and always produces soft, fluffy rolls, mile high burger/brioche buns, breads, pizza crust, and anything else you use it in. In the past my go to was always Fleischmann's Instant yeast . With inflation and the excessively high prices right now this yeast is only a fraction of the cost of those 3 packs from grocery stores.

The flavor was off not like normal yeast.
Airtight storage was good and value seemed good but the flavor was 'off putting'. That is why most people like homemade breads, and other baked goods, but this yeast almost didn't smell or taste like it at all. It was not expired and maybe it was just the one I bought. I will try it again but I will not get the rapid rise in case that might be the problem. Our food has been changed so much and it could be due to whatever process is used to make it rapid rise. The price was good at the time but if it is unused, because of flavor or anything else, it would become very expensive.

Best yeast for baking
If you bake with yeast more than four times a year you need to buy this yeast. It is more reliable than packet yeasts and saves a large amount of "dough" ($). We use this brand for all types of baking and have made hundreds of pizza doughs, bread doughs, and other yeast recipes. Between use we always close the yeast in a zip lock freezer bag and squeeze out air before storing in the freezer. Over several bags stored this way we have never had the yeast fail. Buy it you won't regret it.
