Does what it's supposed to do!
I've been using my MBP with a micro SD card to store a large music collection, but had been worried that the protruding adapter would sooner or later get knocked and broken - or worse permanently damage the slot of the MBP. I nearly bought a much cheaper plastic version of this product, but it wasn't clear whether it would fit flush, so took the plunge and bought this one which is specifically designed for this model. All I can say is that it works perfectly and does not protrude at all; one reviewer appears to have got it jammed right in and has damaged the slot but I really can't see how that can happen & wouldn't let that put you off. I recommend this as a simple way of expanding the MBP's storage (I'm using a 256GB card which is twice that of the MBP) & although it seems expensive, it is well made, fits perfectly & is a lot cheaper than getting your MBP repaired because you've snapped an micro sd card adapter in the slot!Update May 2022: this also works absolutely fine with MacBook Pro 16" 2021 model

Easy way to increase storage on Macbook Pro 15"
Works with my 200+ GB SD Card.It is quite expensive for what it is but there are not many other options out there.Built quality is good.It will stay in the SD Card slot save and sound. A downside to that is it is close to impossible to remove it from the SD card slot with your fingers/fingernails. SIM card removal tool or paper clip works great.

It's an expensive piece of plastic but allows you to do a lot
Basically, this is just a Micro SD holder but a bit smaller so the price does seem steep but the function of it, allowing you to add extra memory via Micro SD to your MacBook Pro means that its value is well worth it. Now I don't have to worry about knocking out a micro SD adapter. It is sleep and discreet. The only downside is that it is a tight squeeze to get it in and its pretty difficult to get out.

Super quick and very reliable SD card storage holder
Works brilliantly.I purchases this along with a 200gb microSD card which fits in the slot provided. You simly then pop into your card slot (in my case a macbook pro 13 inch retina deisplay Card Slot) laptop model around 2012. So now I have an additional 200gb of laptop storage without compromising or partitioning the existing SSD drive. Also adds to your Time Machine backup so I simply transferred all the laptop data to it, defragged the HD again and the microSD card, all now running perfectly and super quick. **WORTH NOTING** to remember to use only very quick micro SD card at minimum 100mbps)Well worth the money and almost 3 quarters cheaper than purchasing a larger SSD Mini PCIE HDRichard

Works on MacBook Pro 16" M1 Max!
Have the old MacBook Pro 15" Retina (2015) with Nifty Drive, the Nifty Sits out and is NOT Flush on my New MacBook Pro 16" M1 Max, tried this and as you can see, fits in flush and works perfectly(Got a 400GB card in) Yes it's ONLY UHS-I transfer rates (40-50mb) but it does the job if you want as some extra storage.

A useful device for Mac users
This little device is rather clever, it allows a Mac user to have more storage at relatively low cost. Particularly useful in later MacBooks with solid state storage where an upgrade is, currently, expensive. Unfortunately accessing the extra storage isn't terribly fast but it is still worth having. The memory card is extra.

Tidy Memory Storage Solution for MacBookPro 13inch Retina
The product was delivered next day and I found that after inserting a memory card and putting it into a MacBook Pro SD slot and restarting I had a new storage device. The adapter fitted flush into the slot and matched the computer perfectly. To remove the adapter you would preferably need some nails and I had no problems with that. A bit pricey but did a good job.Note: I used a SanDisk Extreme 64 GB microSDXC Memory Card + SD Adapter read up to 90 MB/s, write up to 60 MB/s Class 10, U3, V30, FFP from Amazon but of course you can use other makes if you prefer to. I would suggest though that you use a memory card that has reasonably fast transfer speeds.

Fits well, completely disguised but hard to remove...
The adapter does what it says. It is completely invisible and give the ability to easily upgrade the memory. However, there have been a few rare occasions where my computer said it had been ejected when turned on, whether this is the adapters fault or my port I am unsure. However, it is extremely difficult to remove the adaptor. I have to use a pair of scissors to prise it out which is dangerous and damages the adapter slightly. It is also quite expensive for what it is.Just to note, I am using it on a late 2012 13" retina.
