I live in the high desert. Water evaporates quickly and in the winter it gets cold. These mats help retain water around the plants in the summer, and give a little insulation from the cold in the winter. Since I’ve started using these mats around the bases of the plants, most of my plants have survived both summer and winter. Before using them the mortality rate for new plants was about 85%. These mats have more than paid for themselves by not having to replace bushes year after year. I add new mats onto the old ones as the old ones deteriorate. I’ve got 3 or 4 layers on each plant now and the plants are thriving.

Got these to stop my cat from digging in my plants and it works perfectly. These come with a slit cut to the center to wrap it around the base of the tree and they also have 7 other cuts around the center to a accommodate the thickness of the base of the plant. And I can water my plants through it without having to remove it. Perfect!! No

there good but could be thicker

I grow tomatoes in large pots outside. Tomatoes are very susceptible to microbes in the soil splashing onto the plant leaves from rainfall. These eliminate that entirely. They also don't foul up the soil like regular mulches do. They do the usual mulch thing of retaining soil moisture and stopping any other sprouts popping up from the soil very well too.

Not very durable. Flimsy.Won't buy them again.

Easy to install, just what I was looking for with my Hydrangeas. I couldn’t find any products like this at our local nurseries or big box stores.

The diameter was folded into quarters NOT GOOD ! The center hole was ok But there were slits cut outwards from the center hole and WAY TO LONG and to many! This will not keep the weeds from coming thru! IF I had known this I would not have purchased

These are great because you can cut and adjust as needed for a perfect fit.
