The JoyMech yogurt could not be easier to use, and it produces a rich, creamy yogurt every time!
This yogurt has it all - and for half the price of the others I've looked at! When it first arrived, I thought the instruction manual must be missing: it was just a folded up sheet! I thought there had to be more that was missing, but this little machine is so easy to use; after pouring (UNHEATED!) milk and up to 1 tsp of the packaged culture(not included) into the provided metal canister, you put on the cover and plug it in. Voila! 12 hrs later, you have perfect yogurt. I tried mine with grass-fed whole milk and it was so rich and creamy I didn't need to strain it. I also made soy milk yogurt using West Life organic soy milk, 1 tsp of powdered culture, and 12 hrs later - rich, creamy soy yogurt! I was worried that incubating for 12 hrs would produce a very sour yogurt, but the taste was mild and creamy, with just a slight tanginess to it. This JoyMech yogurt maker is the perfect size for one person - the container holds about 3 1/2 cups of milk. It would definitely be too small for a family of 3 or 4, but for me, a container lasts me about 3 days if I eat the yogurt every day for 1 meal. The metal container is easy to pop into the dishwasher, and, best of all, unlike the Bear yogurt maker that I finally gave up on because of its breakable glass container, the JoyMech metal container is very easy to remove with no possible breakage.

Easy & Simple To Use & Gets The Job Done At a Very Good Price
The people in any of the reviews if unhappy would likely do well to pay a bit more attention to the instructions. I made a couple batches of Yogurt from the easy-to-understand instructions, and the Yogurt came out very good. You can make it thin or thick, depending on the ingredients and how long you let it ferment. I like it thick and use 50% Whole Milk & 50% Half & Half to get it thick.

Nice but…
Very simple to use but does not have temperature control. Some cultures need higher or lower temps than others. You need to start by warming your milk or 1/2 and 1/2 to 80-90 degrees or so before adding it to the yogurt machine because it took 12-16 hours to get the temperature up to 106 when I started with cold milk from the fridge. My recipe calls for 106 degrees for 36 hours. After it finally got to temp it kept climbing to 111 and I had to unplug it for 30 minutes and then plug back in. I used a meat thermometer to keep checking it every 4-6 hours. Eventually I had nice smooth yogurt.

Worked good until it didn't
I made several batches of yogurt that got better with each batch, but then 2 batches completely failed, and turns out the machine is not working at all. The light comes on, there is NO heat. Since it has good reviews I wanted to exchange it but there seems to be absolutely nothing I can do. I'm disappointed and angry at this process, or lack of process. Lasted 5 weeks.

Tips for yummy greek yougart
We love this very easy to use Yougart maker. It makes delicious yougartMy tips1. Use 3 cups 100% whole fresh milk, mix 2 TBS full fat power milk well into the fresh mix (this makes it thick)2 Place the above ingredients in a microwave bowl and heat on full power for 1min then stir, heat again, do this 3 times, to heat milk gently. (All in all you heat it 3 min)3. Mix a small tub of full fat yougart into the warm milk, mix well4. Poor the mixture into the steel bowl of the yougart masjien5. Put the plastic lid on, make sure lid is turned to yougart6. Power on the masjien and let it warm for 24 hour. Do not touch it or even lift the lid to take peek7. After 24 hours take the steal bowl out of the masjien and let it cool down for 1 hour before you put it in the fridge8. Keep covered in fridgeENJOY

It works ok.. meh
The media could not be loaded. It doesn’t tell you the temperature and it has been making runny yogurt from the start (I’ve tried several times). It’s still good enough to eat with fruit and nuts but it’s not creamy. The size is smaller than I thought but it makes enough for 4-5 bowls so I think it’s good that is not too big as it doesn’t take so much space in the kitchen. And it’s cute too. But if I could return it, I would.

Simple Yogurt 1-2-3!
This little Yogurt Maker gets to the point without a bunch of tiny individual containers! I wish it was larger though. It really doesn't make a whole quart at a time. That's why I bought a second one so I can be making a new batch while consuming the other. I mostly use Yogourmet Yogurt Starter for consistency and simplicity. I use nonfat milk, either fresh or milk made from powdered milk. The only thing that makes yogurt "Greek" is that people add the step of draining the whey over several hours. I can't be bothered. Besides the whey is healthy. Don't toss it.I really wish this company would make extra stainless steel bowls specifically made to fit this yogurt maker, so people can put the finished batch in the fridge and start a new batch. Why should we wait until we finish the last small batch before we can start a new batch of yogurt? No reason, except this company does not offer extra bowls as I speak. That is why I finally bought a second maker pretty much just for the second bowl. So, if you just want yogurt, this is about as simple and to the point as you can get. Bon appetit!
