Unlike a door knob that attaches with 2 bolts, each side of this one uses screws to secure the knobs. There is no wood to screw to if the door has been pre-drilled for a door knob. I made a round piece of wood that was the same diameter and thickness as the the door knob hole. I put that in the hole and drilled new holes per the instructions. It worked. It is a great design if you don't want a knob that sticks far out.

Hard to install. Had to go buy longer screws in order to install in the standard knob hole. The handle is sharp and uncomfortable on the fingers. The latch mechanism works fine. If I could find another product with a smooth handle I would replace this one with that

Product looks great once installed. This door handle will only work as a closet door or on a brand new door where the hole has not been bored out yet. The handle only comes with wood screws so there is no way to attach both sides to the door with an already existing hole for a door knob. I had to purchase hardware so that I could get it to work. Luckily this was for a closet so the inside knob didn't matter. I've included pictures of the finished installation. Also, this came with no instructions and the edges of the recessed knobs are very sharp. This installation is not for the beginner.

Reading previous reviews, I was pleasantly surprised at the easy install. The latch mechanism fit right into the standard pre-existing holes from previous latch. The smallest provided spindle that goes through it and connects the two handles had to be cut down by 7/16 inch with a dremel. I require a low profile door knob but this unit came without a standard female threaded handle making installation impossible without modification.

Like the handle however, the plunger mechanism is not adjustable so it doesn't fit most doors. There weren't any screws to install the handle. Not sure how you are suppose to connect the front handle to the other side. I had high hopes that this would work. One other note, this is a replacement from the first one I ordered. Very disappointed, I could have used these for several jobs that we have coming up.
