Q: Is illumination adjustable?

No. The illumination is set and can't be changed. But my husband is very sensitive to light and doesn't find it bothersome.

Q: What is the outside diameter of this clock, i.e. where is rests against the wall? want to make sure it fits in the space we intend...

Hi Allen, The outside diameter of the clock is 12.6“, this would include the full surface of the clock, should you need to measure the length where it rests against the wall. The depth of the clock measures approx. 2.4 inches.

Q: In the description it states it will illuminate "from 6 to 12 months". What happens after that? I need to purchase another 1?

Hi Deborah, The 6 to 12 month time frame refers to how long a set of batteries will typically last on average, though different usage circumstances and environments can cause this to deviate somewhat. There are 4 size C batteries that need to be installed on the back, so if these run out of battery after a period of time, you can simply replace them in order to ensure the product continues to illuminate in the dark.

Q: why the lights not working even after replacing the batteries?

there is a slide button that turns the lights off and on. Did you accidentally slide this switch to off?
