I went into this book with such HIGH expectations, and to be honest, I was kind of surprised by the events that unfolded throughout. As a K Webster newbie, I knew she was known for her taboo topics, but this one was way more than I expected.Newly 18 Ash needs money for college after her father remarried and spent her college fund impressing his new bride. Desperate for a job, she begins cleaning Halcyon, the headquarters of the infamous Constantine family, but gets caught doing a bad job by the CEO, cruel, cold, and twisted Winston Constantine. He’s drawn to Ash, she speaks to him with no fear like the rest of the people in his world, and they strike up a deal, he can humiliate her in any way he wants, and she’ll set her fee each time. Their twisted agreement gets more and more dirty and depraved, but Ash seems to be falling. But this story is not a fairy-tale, and Ash is no princess, so who will be there to rescue her when it all comes crumbling down?I struggled to connect to either Winston or Ash, and the plot seemed to just get more and more far-fetched and ridiculous as it went on. Although it was kind of predictable, it felt at times like some scenes were thrown in for the shock factor over actually contributing anything to the plot. The whole Cinderella thing was kind of lacking, but I have a feeling it’ll pick up in Prince Charming, especially after that cliff-hanger.Overall, I am intrigued enough to read the next book because I just want to see how Ash gets herself out of the situation, she finds herself in. If you are into dirty and crazy age-gap plotlines, this will be right up your street but it didn’t blow me away.

Each sibling has an addictive character trait that I just want to read more and more of.The first book in this "retold Cinderella" trilogy, was an age gap, steamy and dark romance. In my mind, it was a dark loose retelling of Cinderella. The only similar storyline to the original Cinderella is her step mum, evil brothers and the heroine being a "maid". But that is about it. I still was here for it and couldn't stop reading.Ash is lonely, lost and broke at only 18 years old. After the passing of her mother, her father decided to marry a doctor with three evil triplets. In this process, she got a mother who cared more about material items then herself and three brothers who just want to "possess" her and bully her at every step they can. After her father spends her college tuition on his new bride, Ash takes a cleaning job in a city office building. What she didn't count on was running into the famous wealthy socialite 35 year old Winston Constantine.Winston is bored. He feels like he is in a continuous roundabout with the same work and personal challenges. When he meets Ash for the first time, he can't take his eyes off of her. And when Winston wants something, he will pay and do anything to have it.Winston decides to make Ash his personal assistant and maid, which includes her being able to board in his penthouse to get away from her horrid step brothers. At first Ash is there for just the money Winston will pay her for anything, but she soon finds herself falling for him. And Winston feels the same. As their connection grows, Ash is dragged into a family drama with the rival Morelli family with the book left on a cliffhanger.All in all, if you are looking for an easy read, that is a dark and very steamy romance (to the point it is sorta an erotica), then this is your read. 4/5 stars with 4/5 steam.

Hot, Hot, Hot....As always K. Webster writes one more hot and sexy book. I started reading her books this summer and in every book I read she is amazing. I can't be tired of her stories, she is so different in every one she writes."Stroke of Midnight" is a fairy tale like Cinderella, but this fairy tale is so different from the conventional we are used to, this one is hot, steamy, sexy and horny. When you start reading you can't put it down, you feel captured in every chapter this story has.Ash is beautiful, brave, crazy for kinky things and full of dreams. Sadly her father changed her dream to go to Columbia to please his new wife with a big engagement ring and expensive restaurants. Her stepmother is a totally bitch and her triplets are hell in earth. Those three are trash.I loved each kinky thing Winston made her do.Winston is sexy and full of money. He hates things out of his control. Ash made the mistake to mess with his control. Omg I was shocked with the crazy things Winston made Ash do and she accepted. I think all the things she made weren't for the money but because she likes to do it. My instinct tells me she is in love with him.Right now Ash is in her triplets stepbrothers and Leo Morelli hands. I hope this second book shows how she will put these trashy guys in their place and stepmother too, like Cinderella did to her stepmother and stepsisters.I can't wait for January to read "Prince Charming".

Bro.. I ate this book up. Got it yesterday and finished right away.This book is so good, I honestly don’t have the words to fully explain how I feel about it. I ordered the rest of the series and I can’t wait for them to arrive!🌶🌶🌶🌶🌶

Stroke of Midnight is a naughty delight. Ash is a young maid who strikes a deal with the dashing and older, Winston. He has dark fantasies that he wants Ash to fill. Will this situation turn from racy to love? There are 3 angry stepbrothers that are in the way, as well as a mafia type family. K Webster blew me away with her genius writing and retelling of this classic fairy tale. This book was dirty, dark, steamy, intriguing, mysterious and thrilling. I can't wait to see what happens next to these characters that I love. Stroke of Midnight is fantastic and a must read.
