This was a complete kit ready to use out of the box. It contains several types of wood for a good flavor selection. The torch was easy to fill and easy to use. It heats up instantly for a good burn, but cools down quickly to avoid any burns. The top is well made and it holds a good quantity of wood. Experiment with the timing, the swirling, smoking a glass prior to putting in the liquor, etc. It was a great gift for our son who enjoys a unique experience with his bourbons.

Our oldest son likes an Old fashion and he has me trying them. So far this is a hit but I'm still learning if i want to use the "good stuff" for mixing. A friend ordered a different drink smoker kit and was not satisfied with the quality of the torch. He ended up ordering a different torch. I read the reviews and spent the money on what seemed to be a high-quality kit. I am very satisfied with this purchase. The torch is easy to use and is clearly high quality. Also, this kit can be purchased with a can of butane included, while most of the other kits came without butane. This enables you to use the smoker as soon as you get it. The kit also comes with the topper for adding smoke to a glass, 3 screen inserts and a cleaning brush. Plus, the box doubles as a great storage device so you can keep everything together in one place.I used this smoker to make a Kentucky Campfire (smores) Old Fashioned. Delicious. I even used the torch to toast the marshmallows that I used as a garnish. Now my wife and I are enjoying toasted marshmallows for a quick dessert from time to time. The only difference is that many of the smokers came with other wood chips (apple, cherry, pecan, walnut, etc) whereas this one only had oak. If in the future, I decide to see if I can tell the difference in the smoke produced by other woods, I can always purchase them separately.
