RISEN is the epic Biblical story of the Resurrection, as told through the eyes of a non-believer. Starring Joseph Fiennes and Cliff Curtis.

Quality acting and intriguing plot line!
My favorite film to watch around Easter! I like how the story is told from a skeptical, non-believer’s point of view—just a man, doing his job as a centurion, unraveling the mysteries surrounding a man named Jesus.

Great movie
This films plot line is very believable and the main character is an extremely talented actor. The support cast is good. the period staging, background and costumes are excellent. I have watched this movie multiple times and highly recommend it.

Love This Movie!
This is a beautiful portrayal of a Roman tribune who witnesses the death of Jesus...and then His glorious resurrection! Don't want to give away too much of the story -- but needless to say...this Roman tribune is never the same again! Actors are top notch...and the whole movie is very well done! Has become a new Easter classic for our family to watch. Would definitely recommend...you won't be disappointed!

Awesome movie
Hopefully they keep making movies like this. Watched it and loved it. Anyone can find the true God, but it takes afford and works. But the gift of God’s s grace is free of Him to give to any wretched sinner saved by Grace.

It will keep your attention throughout. It's a well-done, tightly-scripted film.
The producers of this film have given us a highly thought-provoking one. It ‘s a look at the post resurrection period of Jesus Christ rich in imaginative viewpoints. The main point here is, yes, Jesus Christ was risen from the dead. The intriguing story is how the resurrection is seen through the eyes of a Roman Tribune who actually played a major role in the Crucifixion because he was fulfilling Pontius Pilate’s orders to “Crucify Him.”We see the post-resurrection period though the Tibune’s eyes as he (1) finds Jesus alive, (2) follows Him as His apostles leave Jerusalem and head for Galilee where, Mary Magdeline says, "you will see Him once more.”They do and the Tribune becomes, not the hunter, but the hunted along with the apostles and Jesus as Roman legions are sent out in pursuit of the “Nazorean.” After long pursuit Jesus and the Apostles and the Tribune find themselves at the Sea of Galilee where they set out to return to Jerusalem. But they first witness the Ascension into Heaven where Jesus assures them, “I will be with you, always.”They invite the Tribune to come with them, but he reluctantly says, “no” and heads back to Jerusalem in a scene that is a throwback to the opening scene of the film, the Tribune in the house of a local out in the desert. But this is not the end of the saga. I encourage you to purchase “The Bible” an epic video produced by Roma Downey. Disk four of the set picks up where “Risen” ends: in Jerusalem for Pentecost, the receipt of the Holy Spirit as promised by Jesus, and with Pilate saying to one of his soldiers who was part of the search, “I doubt we’ll ever hear from him again” (meaning the Tribune). It’s a fascinating film. Maybe this review want you to learn more. So, purchase the DVD, from Amazon, of course, and the epic Bible DVD. Thank you for reading.

Exceptionally Good
Our new favorite Easter movie ! What a wonderful story. Joseph Fiennes does an excellent job playing a very tired Roman Legion Commander , who longs for an end of battle and death, and achieving peace in his life. He comes back from battle only to be immediately sent out to take charge of the final stage of Jesus’ crucifixión . He gets there just as the earthquake hits and the sky darkens, and sees how affected his men are. He sees Jesus’ face but Jesus is dead. He allows the Jewish friends of Jesus to take him down for burial in a tomb. He sets guards and seals the tomb. He is troubled and weary , but thinks that it is finished. Then the real story begins as he is ordered to find The Body…..Which has Risen. An exciting story from beginning to end, rivaling The Robe. The man playing Jesus is excellent and real. You’ll love it. For Christians there is nothing objectionable and lots to love. This movie is professional and respectful. Go for it!
