Powerful: One sachet goes a long way!
I made two gallons of mead with just half a sachet!Flavor is much better than other yeasts I used (less yeasty, less acidic/sour), very high alcohol level! Yeast is settling as nice sediment, easy to decant (filtration not needed). Ended up with large amount of more yeast without detectable degeneration, could have gone on and on... Fermentation is intense: froth can build up to your air lock (half a sachet/2qt was enough for me).

Nearly expired yeast shipped!!!
I received this yeast today, January 8, 2018. I put some of the yeast into some apple cider that I am brewing up and it seemed to start working fairly quickly so it does appear to be live viable yeast. The only down side.....and it is a big down side...this order has 10 packets of yeast which is enough to make 50 GALLONS of hard cider (or whatever you are making), but it has an expiration date of FEBRUARY 2018!!!!!! If I knew this yeast would only have a shelf life of a month and a half (52 days to be exact) I never would have ordered it. I know I can keep it in the refrigerator to extend the life and that it will probably work well past its expiration date, but that's not the point. I don't want to buy something that is nearly expired!! And for that matter, I don't even know how it was stored prior to shipment. Was it sitting at room temperature for a year?, sitting in a hot warehouse all summer? Was it refrigerated like it is supposed to be? I am sure it will be fine and the yeast will work for quite a while, but if I am going to spend all the time and money to brew up a 5 gallon batch of hard cider.....I don't want to risk it and put in expired yeast!!! Just think of all the wasted time, labor, expense, $30-$40 worth of cider .....and then the yeast doesn't activate because it is expired?!?!?!. This is unacceptable for a company to send out a nearly expired product. No home brewer would possible be able to brew up 50 gallons of anything in a month and a half!! Perhaps they will read this and make it right some how.

No activity
Didn't work. Tried in a 3 gallon batch, didn't work. Tried another envelope. Didn't work. Each envelope is suppose to be good for 6 gallons. I got no activity at all.
