Love Polar Express
We absolutely love Polar Express and watch it several times every Christmas. Although I do object to paying separately for a movie on a channel which we already pay for every month I really enjoy watching this.Polar Express is suitable for children and adults to watch as the train goes on its way picking up children who BELIEVE. and taking them to the North Pole to receive a present from Santa before watching the elves and reindeers then on their journey back home. I will not say anymore and spoil the movie other than to say it is brilliant and I highly recommend it even if you have to pay for it.Next year we will buy the movie rather than renting it which means it can be watched once where as buying it for not much more means the actual movie belongs to you to watch over and over even for the next years.A fantastic Christmas movie for all ages which I definitely recommend as I'm sure you will want to view it many times.

Stunning
I bought this film on DVD several years ago knowing nothing about it but my 3 year old was into trains so I thought I would take a chance. I'm glad I did. This has to be one of, if not THE Christmas film of all time.Firstly the film, the animation is simply stunning with amazing panoramic shots, rotating shots of specific scenes and detail that was way ahead of it's time when the film was made in 2004 and is still among the best 8 years later. The story is basically about belief in Father Christmas (I won't go into more detail so there is no spoiler alert) and I defy any adult not to have a lump in their throat at the end of the film. For kids, there is lots of action and a chance to see what Santa's grotto really looks like!I would also say that for younger kids (under 6yrs), it would probably be best to watch it with them as there are a few scary bits in it but on the whole it is just magical. Finally the print, there are many versions of Polar Express around including some in "3D"...watch out! The intention was always to release this film in 3D and the early copies (including most of the US imports, some on Blu-Ray) advertise it as 3D but actually use the anaglyph system (paper glasses with different coloured lenses) which gives a very poor 3D image and terrible colours, for modern systems you need the "Blu-Ray" 3D version which came out in November 2011 (Polar Express 3D (Blu-ray 3D + Blu-ray + DVD + Digital Copy)[Region Free]) which uses the Eclipse method, (active shutter or LG passive glasses systems) for use with current 3D TV's - read the reviews of the Blu-Ray if unsure. On this new disc, the effects are fantastic with snow scenes you could almost be in, roller-coaster shots which actually turn your stomach and you could be on Santa's sleigh for some of the flying scenes. The quality of the print (picture) is immaculate being all digital in production....I could go on forever.Basically if you have a 3D system get Avatar when available on general release and Polar Express as your reference Blu-Ray's, you won't be disappointed.

Creepy and festive
Great for older kids. Always makes me a kittle edgy and also sentimental (it's the lads crucial year after all!) But the Christmas motifs throughout and the little references to Christmas a lovely even in the odd ghosty bits. I also love the conspiracy theories round the film and all it's got to offer multiple ages as its good for a large family audience.
