Our 6 grader is having some hard time getting used to the local school system: we moved here from EU and teaching style, homework are completely different over there...After having watched some tutorials online, we decided to purchase a good organizer binder and help him with the work organization. Since the different full size organizers look very similar to each other, we decided to purchase the most popular four and compare them before taking our decision. This fromm Five Star was our winner, no doubts.We compared this Five Star one with an "Amazon Basics 3 Ring Binder with Zipper", a "Case-it The Mighty Zip Tab Zipper Binder 3 Inch O-Rings 5 Pocket" and a "Case-it Universal 2 Inch 3 Ring Zipper Binder". Please watch the video attached for better understanding.Besides the fact Five Star is definitely better made, more sturdy, better made handle and in general more attention to details, it has also more internal pockets and useful storage space.Amazon basic was immediately canceled from the selection as a matter of fact rings are way too big, huge I would say, and materials are quite poor. No space for chromebook, nor for calculator and pens.The 2 Case-it - even if nice - are also not the best in terms of quality: the 3 inches one (bigger of the two) is nice but does not have space for chromebook and calculator. The 2 inches one (smaller of the two) has a pocket for chromebook but not for pens and calculators. Furthermore it is not big enough for the use we wanna do.This one from Five Star is big enough, well made, has space dedicated for calculator, for pens and the front pocket - even if not specifically made for chromebook - it can be used without problems for that purpose.We cannot say how long this is going to last but - so far - we are happy with the decision taken.According to tutorials online, the organizer must hold 4 pocket folders (2 x math, language, science) and 2 for homework (to be done, to be turned in) plus a notebook, a ring pen pouch, calculator, extra pens, chromebook).

I ordered this for my son who is in fifth grade this year. It was required on his school supplies list. The trapper keeper is compact yet large enough to hold the three folders and three notebooks he needs for his fifth grade classes. The quality is amazing. The materials are durable and are also easy to clean. The design is attractive and the black color is uniform throughout the entire trapper keeper without any light/dark spots or blemishes. For the price I believe this is the best deal when compared to any other brands. I am extremely happy with this product and would absolutely recommend it.

I got this binder for my daughter when she started 6th grade she is now in 9th and the binder lasted all three years. The binder did get a hole in it on the top and some stains on the back of the back of it but that’s to be expected as she used it everyday (except for summer). Now my son is going into 6th and also wanted a binder so I purchased another for him In a different color. Both binders have worked great for everyday use. The only thing that I can find troubling is that I can’t find a way to remove the stains as even water would stain it. But overall it’s one of the best products you can get if you want it to last.

This binder has lasted through my son's freshman year of high school and now half way through his sophomore year. He crams it full and it's still functioning! Super good quality here!!

This binder didn't even last one month of school before the rings broke and wouldn't line up correctly. My son had 5 plastic folders inside for his classes. He kept his pencils, markers and highlighters in the side with the mesh zipper. The binder rings were rarely opened so they shouldn't have broken within a month. There is absolutely no reason that this should be this poorly made. Of course it's past the return frame with Amazon. The binder is supposed to be guaranteed for 1 year, but I have no idea where to find the information to contact the company for a replacement. I may as well have just lit $20 on fire instead of buying this awful binder. We replaced it with a 3 ring binder from Carsten's. The rings are guaranteed not to break on that one. 🤞🏽 We will see.
