These Work! This is what Professional Services Use!
After a long and agonizing battle with nits and head lice brought in by my daughter to my waist length hair, I finally won the war! Using several techniques, notably coconut oil smothering overnight, blowing the hair dry for lengthy periods, using a flattening iron and this comb in the shower with tons of conditioner I finally walked in to be checked at the local Rapunzel's lice salon and they told me I was completely nits free.My husband had shaved his head, my daughter literally shaved her head and is lucky enough to be able to pull the look off, but I was at my wit's end thinking I was never going to get rid of these things despite all the laundering cleaning Etc in addition to everything I was doing to my hair. This comb really does work, I do suggest watching some YouTube videos on how to properly comb it out. If this is something that you have to do yourself, I would do it as I did, in the shower and using tons of inexpensive conditioner. I sectioned my hair off and combed it, rinsed the comb, combed it from another Direction, rinsed, I used the water to help run the comb down while making sure to have my hair at the bottom of the comb to get the nits off.If you want to save yourself a bunch of time and hassle and you have the money, I suggest just going into a salon that specializes in treating it. But I just couldn't do that and tons of olive, coconut, mint, neem and other oils combined with all the above measures worked over a 2 and a half week time frame. This comb was the linchpin of all of this and I couldn't recommend it more! Good luck!

Lifesaver!!!!
I’m almost 38 weeks pregnant and a few days ago I discovered my two girls (5&7) somehow brought home lice! I checked my own head and I had nits in my head too!! I started freaking out because I definitely can’t imagine bringing a newborn into this scenario so I was on a mission to eradicate these bugs ASAP. Sent hubby to get 6 boxes of Nix. We were up until 4 am treating and combing the girls hair out as well as mine. Unfortunately we could NOT get all the nits out and I was freaking out! Hubby told me about this nit free brand lice comb that he thinks will be the game changer. After reading all the reviews online I immediately ordered them and received them the day after next. We soaked everyone’s hair in a vinegar solution to loosen the nits and then sectioned off the hair and started combing in a 4 way fashion (watch the YouTube videos!). Sooo many nits came out. After going through all the hair once we combed it all over again but with conditioner Added in the hair. I checked the girls hair after washing and I couldn’t find a single nit!! This comb is amazing! It was a lifesaver! We are going to comb out everyone’s hair again every 3 days for 2 weeks and redo the lice treatment in 7 days. This comb put my paranoid, stressed, heavily pregnant mind to ease that we have this under control now and my new baby will not be entering a lice infested home!

Use Sewing Needle to Clean comb and other Tips
You need to hold the nit combs to the light and clean the nit eggs out with a hand sewing needle which you then wipe on a paper towel and put in a ziplock bag. Soak combs in boiling water with Dawn dish soap to remove hair product and other hair debris. I find using the combs on dry hair more effective than wet hair. Yes you will lose a bit of hair probably the 100 strands you would have lost anyways.Get a prescription treatment since thé over the counter products are ineffective. Don’t bother with wasting money and time on thé over the counter stuff just tell your doctor you have tried the usual stuff and get a prescription and make sure they give you a prescription for two doses for each family member. I recommend the following from the CDC website because it kills both the eggs and the lice. You will still need to comb out and check. Yes head lice like head to head transmission best so no selfies with head squashed together, shared combs and hats, however once live lice land on the floor they don’t sit there and say, “Oh I have fallen and can’t get up.” They crawl up the nearest persons leg and up their hair and make themselves a new home so you do need to vacuum the floor.Spinosad 0.9% topical suspensionBrand name* product: Natroba. From the CDC website.Spinosad is derived from soil bacteria. Since it kills live lice as well as unhatched eggs, retreatment is usually not needed. Nit combing is not required. Spinosad topical suspension is approved for the treatment of children six months of age and older. Repeat treatment only if live (crawling) lice are seen seven days after the first treatment.I had to do my research and tell my doctor I wanted this product. My doctor was not familiar with it.Even after using it you will need to remove the nit eggs from your kids hair and clean your environment throughly, vacuum the floors, thé bed, drawers, wash all the bedding in hot water 130 or above and dry sheets twice on the hottest setting. I also recommend ironing sheets and pillows daily after vacuuming if you don’t have time to wash and dry in dryer. You will also need to wash all coats, hats and backpacks. As an added measure you can get a Rigid Shop Vac 15+ gallons with hp of 6.5 or higher with a fine dust filter made with Hepa materials and vacuum bag for fine dust collection to vacuum your kid's hair and space. This type of vacuum has far more suction capability then women’s vacuum cleaners and cost far less too. You can even purchase the Rigid EPA approved vacuum for lead removal that uses HEPA filter. Yes you heard me correctly vacuum your kid’s hair or have them do it on their head wherever they feel the bugs crawling. It won’t suck up the eggs but it will thé live bugs. Do this for at least a half hour on dry hair daily. If they feel bugs moving again after stopping have them start again. Be sure to have them use ear plugs to protect their hearing. Have them read a book while doing this. Attach a ziploc bag with rubber band to the end of the vacuum to keep everything inside after they are finished vacuuming.Prevention comb everyday, vacuum hair everyday, use a blow dryer. Have kids throw coats and bags in hot dyer for two cycles. Bag their clothing upon arriving home and seal it. Have them shower and change into lounge wear. Vacuum the entire house especially bedrooms and bathrooms. Have the kids do as much of this as you can.Lice is gross. I hope this helps people deal effectively with this.
