Fantastic setup
I got this a bit skeptical as i had the go-kart seat based Mushaburui low-rider seat in the past, with severe back and neck pain due to having to spend time almost curled up in the fetal position. Now, the Playseats features a Recaro-like race seat and 2-D adjustable side plates, and a very wisely designed center plate made of beefy plastic and metal base plate. The sturdy redundant center plate allows for customization. I installed a keyboard holder in front of it.The side plates have hole patterns that match X-52Pro throttle's, but extra drilling was required due to one of the holes laying over the support. The left plate has an extra hole that allowed me to install a backlit keymap holder.Of course power supply and powered 10 port USB hub a must.I have the whole setup on a 24x46 diamond plate on funrniture sliders, so i can just put it in the corner when we want to use our 110" 24p projection system for movies.Wop, RoF, DCS:BS, IL-2 here i come!Everything is nice and tight, my X-52Pro/pedals and TrackIT setup look like they were made for it. One word of caution, resist the temptation to install TrackIR on the rig or base plate if you decide you need one, the problem is vibration into the TiR sensors.Thank you Playseats! I had to use lock washers through and through to make the rig shock proof, i am one of those fidgety PC aviators, and weigh 250 lbs.

Excellent idea for the flight sim enthusiast
Excellent idea for the flight sim enthusiast. Easy to assemble. Solid design. I didn't need the large center plate for my Warthog joystick I simply used a couple of large butterfly clamps to hold it onto the plastic base. The only minor drawback is getting in and out of the chair due to the center pole. The screws/bolts etc could be better packaged. The plastic bag had a hole and I ended up looking through the boxes to find them. Luckily it was a double-box otherwise I certainly would have lost some.I would recommend, perhaps, two small castor wheels for either the front or the back. Then you could tilt it onto the wheels and easily move it out of the way when necessary.

Great for simming if you want to keep your desk
For years I was using an office chair with HOTAS mounts. This solution was just OK - I still do work on my PC and thus a full blown sim pit was out of the question. Of course because it was an office chair, it swiveled when I used the rudder pedals or gas/brake pedals and the HOTAS mounts sat very high...Thus the search for something better! I ran across this Playseat Flight while Googling solutions to my problem. I wanted to keep my existing desk setup, but needed something more comfortable and sturdy. This fit the bill! It is very well made, sturdy and comfortable for many hours of simming (I weigh 165 lbs and I'm 6ft 1in). I love the fact that you can adjust up/down/forwards/backwards the HOTAS mounts to fit your arm length. Despite how heavy this kit is, it slides reasonably well on carpet making getting in and out easy enough. I also mounted my Logitech Driving Force Pro steering wheel on the center mount and slide it into place when I want to play race sims. I can reach the steering wheel very easily, and it's adjustable also so you can have it closer and lower or farther away and higher. I also purchased the Playseat floor mat as I did not want this to tear up my carpet over years of use, and I must say it adds to the look of the setup as well as function. If I had one complaint about this seat, it's that you can't raise its height off of the floor. However, this sits high enough for me to comfortably type on my desk's keyboard tray, and in fact is higher than my office chair set to its lowest height. If the height of this kit is a concern, I can assure you it sits higher than other racing chairs on the market.

Not worth the money
Seat is very cheap. hardware stripped out very easily and the metal is very soft. Seat is like sitting on a metal seat with no padding. About 15 minutes and you can feel the frame of the seat in your back. would not recommend. spend more and get a actual good seat.

"if it's so awesome, why three stars
This leather and steel rig is gorgeous and it will probably last a lifetime. It's extremely functional when one is seated and it will serve for both driving and flying sims. The Item arrived well packed two days after placing the order, everything was in order and assembly was straight-forward.So your probably thinking, "if it's so awesome, why three stars?" Two reasons: First, the seat doesn't recline enough to comfortably seat taller users; I often feel I'm leaning too far forward. Second, I fear that sooner or later I'm going to hurt myself or break my expensive controllers getting in and out of this thing; if your foot snags on the chair or a controller during egress or ingress, you may very we'll take a tumble.I love this seat and it truly is worth the money. I bought it with the Oculus Rift in mind, and I encourage anyone thinking about building their own rig to take a serious look at the Playseat. I too scoffed at the price, but once you see the quality of this product you will understand that it's built to last. Awesome.

Everlasting Quality
Update: I've had mine for 7 years and it's still one of my favorite gaming investments, just do it lol

Great chair for the price
Great chair for the price. Wish the side platforms were a little sturdier. If you use any kind of extension on your stick or have a stiffer stick (like the warthog or X55 with a stiff spring) they will feel a little wobbly.

Awesome chair!
Easy to assemble. Very comfortable. My X52 mounts to the platform's pre drilled holes (mounting bolts sold separately).Only a couple minor complaints. Extra parts (not spares) that aren't addressed in the manual. "Not for use in cars" embroidered on the back of the chair; a sticker or tag would suffice. Just seems like a weird thing to have embroidered. Would be nice if the adjustment screws had some sort of stopper to prevent their full removal; they're kind of a pain to get back in if you back them out too far.Other than that, I absolutely love it. Not a bad price for what you get. Although I've seen it cheaper if you do some shopping.
