Great jute rug.
Leaving a review as I did a lot of research before purchasing this. I was not new to jute rugs, I have a few smaller ones. I purchased this large rug knowing that there is a bit of a natural smell to it in the beginning and that there can be light shedding. I have 3 cats, 2 who love to scratch rugs. We've had the rug just over a month now, there was no odor beyond minimal natural odor that dissipated within a couple of days, certainly no toxic odors. There were a couple snags or loose loops but nothing that stuck out or caused a defective appearance. Something one has to understand w a natural jute rug is that this will be the case on all of them. They are natural material and hand made. If you want a pristine picture perfect rug, a jute rug is not it. I am pretty particular on the appearance of things in general and this rug exceeded my expectations. I have vacuumed it w our dyson, it has a turning bar but not a typical beater bar (we have the fabric one w the laser light) and have not noticed a lot of shedding nor wear from vacuuming. I have had a cat throw up on it. I promptly cleaned it w just water and a little vinegar and it is no longer visible. As for softness, I wouldn't walk on any jute rug w my bare feet but the cats are happy to take naps on it. Thickness is thick enough not to look cheap. Color is a beautiful natural color, and it didn't have those obvious stripes you see in some jute rugs (I really dislike that appearance). The quality is great in all the ways that are important to me therefore I highly recommend.

Awesome rug!!!
I honestly didn’t have high expectations when I ordered this rug since I snagged it on sale for only $88. I figured it would be a decent placeholder until I found something better. But wow—I was so wrong. This is a legit jute rug that looks and feels like something I would’ve paid several hundred dollars for.The texture is great, it feels durable underfoot, and it adds the perfect natural, earthy vibe to my space. It completely ties my room together and fits seamlessly with the rest of my home’s aesthetic. You really can’t beat the quality for the price. If you’re on the fence—don’t be. I would absolutely recommend this rug to anyone looking for that high-end, neutral jute look without the designer price tag. Total steal!

I love this thing
I bought this to replace a polyester/polyethelene carpet I had bought about six years ago. The rug is in a very high traffic area (a thoroughfare in our row house style apartment). The room also is my plant room. I was kind of careless about dripping water on the rug, and eventually it started to stink like mildew. But even in areas where I hadn't dripped water, the poly rug started to smell really bad. I thought I'd try shampooing the rug, but even this didn't take care of the odor. And when I vacuumed, there was always red residue from the red rug. It was obviously breaking apart from the wear and tear, causing the petroleum based fibers to give off an odor and releasing the dreaded microplastics into our environment.So. I wanted to replace it with an affordable natural fiber option. I did my research about jute so I wouldn't encounter any surprises. I'm on a super tight budget as I'm about to begin student teaching for three months which means no income for three months. The rug I needed to replace was in the room where I like to study. I did not want to be in this room where the carpet stank. The floor underneath it (I rent) is icy cold marble that needs to be refinished and looks disgusting and gross no matter how many times I clean it. Why pay hundreds of dollars for a carpet that is made from the same fibers as a less expensive jute rug and made in the same manner (handwoven)? This one was affordable. It was not very heavy to carry and though it had some creases and bumps at first, they quickly went away. Though the rug itself is not heavy, it lays well. I was able to salvage the rug pad from my previous carpet, but ended up throwing it away because this baby does not need any padding below it. It is nice and thick. I was nervous that my cats would scratch at it, but they haven't yet. They seem to really enjoy it, too. I was worried, too, that it would be rough and uncomfortable for doing my stretches on it, but that is not true. It's not exactly "soft" but doesn't feel hard or scratchy. In fact, the thick weave feels sort of massaging on your feet. I did not experience any debris falling off the rug, and the odor from the natural jute is minimal. In fact, I like it! Have you ever been to a haunted house? Where they use plenty of burlap to make walls or other scenery? It smells like that. Or perhaps you've visited the Pawnee Earth Lodge at Chicago's Field Museum. It smells like that. The smell is one thousand times more preferable to the previous petroleum odor that filled the room. I will be looking into buying more jute rugs in the future. I anticipate this one to last a long time, and also anticipate it will fare better if/when I spill plant water on it. Bravo to this rug.

Nice Rug But
If you’re looking for perfection this might not be the rug for you. Although I like the rug there is some visible inconsistent weaving. So unless your spending considerably more you will probably find similar weaving in other jute rugs.

Will be buying again
Will definitely be buying this again for different rooms. It's thick and rugged. Great warm tone to it, adding nice warm and rustic look to the room.It is indeed smelly so let it air out without the packaging outside for a few days if using inside like I am.

Great functioning rugs
I have 4 of these rugs. 2x3 4x6 8x10 and 10x13. All have been delivered in good shape. I opened every one on the clean driveway and vacuumed just in case dirt or debris came with it. Little did. They unfolded well and settled in quickly. I notice a little smell of jute. All are all varying shades of tan and brown and similar enough to each other that I have placed 3 of them next to each other. They function like a custom carpet fitted around the central fireplace. The other catches the dirt from feet going between the garage and kitchen. Each rug is loosely woven in 1/2” loops that are comfortable to walk on in bare feet, but could become uncomfortable to lay or kneel on for any length of time. Their rustic look works with my eclectic ranch/beach/boho style living and dining room. So far I’ve only vacuumed them without a beater bar and they hold up well. They don’t show dirt. The price was good. I expect they will last at least until I want to redecorate in a few years. I would not recommend them for dogs as their toenails could catch in the loose weave.
